Driving School With A Vrs In West Yorkshirei?

Featured Replies

I am looking to change my 1.2 Fabia for a Vrs in the next month, since I have only had 1.2 size engine cars and lower ( had a Almera 1.5 but this does not count  ) the jump from a small size engine to a 1.9 TDI might take some getting used to. This is why I am thinking of taking a couple of drives in a learning school car so I can get used to the power.

Save the money and spend it on Diesel.

Just take it steady for the first few days until you get used to the new cars power, i.e. not giving it too much welly around the lanes and build up gradually, most of all remember that the throttle doesn't have to be pushed right to the floor everywhere (although it'll make you laugh (a lot) when you do.....

Some Fellow Briskonian might give you a go............Driving I mean

I might just spend it on the diesel. I drive powerful vans at work.

know there is one in cleckheaton, not sure of name tho, best bet just call in at dealers and get a test drive in a used model :)

I have a 170 bhp driving school diesel car (I used to use a vRS) but I live up in the lakes ;) if you find yourself at a meet I'm going to , I'd be happy to let you have a drive (and give some advice) for free :)

Thanks for the offer but I will take a test drive at a dealer.

There is a driving instructor in Keighley with a Fabia SE, he previously had a vRS.

Not a million miles away from you fella.

Thanks for your help Mr Grumpy but will take a test drive at a dealers. Did you see Ian on Saturday?.

So long as you drive carefully, and respect the extra power, then you'll be fine. No need to fork out expensive driving lessons which will only dragg on to line their pockets.

I don't know what your excperiance is, but i never "drag things on to line pockets"

hence my "advice for free" statement, don't know what driving instructors you know, but my only concern is putting SAFE drivers on the road.

I would thank you not to tar all people with the same brush.

I consider myself a safe driver who always stick to the speed limits;) , I have been driving now for 12 years and no bumps or points on my license.

Appologies. Round these parts they're money grabbing - maybe ex taxmen & women?

So long as the OP doesnt drive like it stolen, I can't see the need for lessons ;)

no probs, I'm sure you're fine...

it's the line the pockets thing that winds me up, we don't do this for money (at least I don't, it simply isn't possible!) The sooner we get people through tests the better, because the better the reputation we get for it..... taking people for longer that they need is counter-productive...people moan about the costs of driving lessons all the time (I hear it every day) but we are way below 'industry' standard, when compaired to other proffesionals (plumbers, electricians ect) and the costs of running a car for 1,000 miles a week are huge, and when people moan (and it's usually the better off that moan the most!) I have to remind them that 10 people are going to die on our roads today, and just how much are they willing to spend to see their son/daughter stay alive into their 20's.... teenage drivers make up 3% of the drivers on the road, but account for 30% of the accidents (50% at night-time) and I want to see those statistics reduced... I work 'x' hours a week, so it's irrelevent how many hours someone has (or how much they spend) because there will always be someone to take their place when they're gone, I just think people should take "as long as it takes" until they are safe....... "lining our pockets" is simply NOT an issue

sorry.

I'll put the soap box away, or I'll rant all day , and I don't want to start arguments, as I've made alot of friends on here....

*sigh..

no probs... if you live in a place where there are many instructors and few customers, it can happen :thumbdwn:

Aye. Sorry if it seemed personal. I agree with everything you say in your last post.

I like many others here drive for a living, and really wish we could show the *&^%'s that cut across 3 lanes joining a motorway what could happen.

Keep up the good work!

I'm a vRS owning driving instructor based in Pudsey if you wanna go :D

I have got a test drive on Saturday at my dealer.

Go to Stratstone Honda Bradford. My old Fabia vRS is for sale there.
