Rant mode on - why the hell do manufacturers use totally non standard bolt sizes and why can't Haynes be bothered to warn the user of this abnormality - grrr ! Letter of complaint going out tonight to Haynes (for all it's worth!)

Anyway I've now taken the wheel off twice - once to check on the disk size, etc. and then today to change the discs and pads only to be defeated by the requirement for a seemingly unavailable tool. Can anyone advise where 7mm allen keys can be got from please.

LOL i came across the same problem! It was most annoying, luckily i had a mate with one.

Everything i have ever done on my octavia has required a none standard tool!

So I have since discovered !!

I haven't been across to Halfords yet but I hadn't realised that allen keys were available as sockets (ignorance:rolleyes: ). Unless there is a significant price advantage at Halfords (unlikely!), I see I can get something suitable through one of the Ebay sellers.

So I take it you havent sent this letter yet?

Brake caliper sliders have been 7mm for years...lol

(Some smallers ones are 6mm to be fair, but not many).
