I have a skoda sticker on the heated rear i want removed, its been on for sum tyme i guess it doesnt jus peel off, any ideas? water? sum heat? Its a white rectangle sticker, its jus the skoda garage the car was first sold from it got where it was sold at and got skoda writtin accross it, i want it off. any suggestions?

I reckon with gentle persuasion from one corner, it will peel off all in one piece. If you're able to, perhaps using a hair dryer on it for 30 seconds to a minute will help warm up the glue.

Mine came off with a bit of heat and then used some tar spot remover type stuff to clean up any glue left over.... Just make sure the sticker isn't on any of the heating elements as you might damage it....

I have a problem with this too. I've got a big sticker in the rear window from the garage that the car originally came from. I don't want to remove it in case I damage the heating elements.

The bit that really annoys me is that the handbook clearly states not to put stickers in the rear window for this reason yet Skoda dealerships seem to be worst offenders!

You'll be fine, just warm it up and peel off starting from one corner, as long as you don't scratch the elements it'll be ok.

Your confidence is inspiring. I'll probably work up to it by performing other tasks that test me to my limit....... Checking the tyre pressure, and the oil level!

Is it just the dealer sticker? They usually come off no bother , I got mine off easy when I got my car , and it had been on for 5 and a bit years by then! Luckily , I didnt have a 'Its a Skoda , Honest' or the later 'Oh No , not another great Skoda' rear window stickers to worry about!

I have one in mine too, the rear window is hardly big without cluttering it up with stickers, plus they look unsightly and its free advertising for the dealership, will try the hair dryer ,

Is there not a difference between stickers that use glue / adhesive to stay on, and ones (like a tax disc cover) which are just plastic which seem to cling to glass if you smooth it down, but are easily peel-off-and put-on-again-able ?

I'd presume the latter would be okay

I will try a hair dryer sum time, my car is on a w plate so its 7 year old, the sticker isnt going to come off without a little help of sum heat, i hav other stickers wat were on before i had car "its a skoda honist" << that will stay on and got another sticker on about car of the year, but i just want the off whats got the garage on, it just spoils the car, will the heat soften the glue then? and shud it come off in 1? not just rip little bits off?

Pull the sticker off in the direction of the elements aswell. Plus take your time and remove very slowly.

as suggested, you may try running over the sticker with a hair dryer to soften the glue up but if its been on for a few years chances are the glue will have dried in so heating will be of no real effect.

use a stanley blade or similar on a corner, be careful not to touch the heating elements with the blade, once you have a corner lifted enough so you can grip it with your fingers, simply peel the sticker off slowly.

use either tar and glue remover or polish to remove any glue on the glass.

stickers do not damage the heating element nor will they be damaged on removal.
