Looks just like mine!

Very nice?

I've noticed that some vRS's have a longer badge under the Fabia at the back... mine is a June 04 and its a short one. Why is this?

EDIT- I also have the older style rear lights

Nice! it doesnt look dirty at all , that'll be the Silver!!

PS. About the badge , maybe its been replaced by an Octavia one?

Very Nice...............Enjoy

Very nice, just like mine, but clean!

for instance i had a 04 silver fabia vrs and it had the long badge

and now my 05 black fabia vrs has the little badge

car looks nice mate reminds me of my silver one

Mine too! Except for the seats.......I couldn't go back to standard cloth if anyone paid me.

Message to Skoda. WHITE SEATS ARE STUPID! :thumbdwn:

They even have white alcantara things in the new Octy vRS. When will they learn....

But on a more serious note, I'm actually considering a change to the later light clusters. I think I prefer the look of them.

Not sure I can be bothered to change the rear badge to the smaller one though.

Snob ;)

I do agree the white seats are dumb idea, its supposed to be practical. or is it the exciting part that covers the seats.

Anyway anybody want to donate to the john_needs_leather_appeal :D

Nice Car BTW.

Silver looks good all the time, even when durty. which unfortunatly isnt the case for black. :(

Long badge denotes long gear ratios..

I have 04 and me dad has 04

mine has short badge and proper middle seat belt guide, dads doesnt.

So i rekon dads = long gear ratios, mine = later, short ratios..

oh and change to the newer rear lights, it will look alot better

probably load let over from the octy's

Not right I'm afraid. It just comes down to a switchover period between old and new kit.

My first Fabia had a long vRS badge. This was taken straight from the Octavia vRS incidentally. You'll find the Octavia badge fits the length perfectly :) So when the Fabia was launched they just carried on using the same badge. Mine was a March 04 though, and had one-touch indicators and the shorter ratio gearbox. But the original dash material, rear door locking pins, pre-facelift rear lights etc.

It seems to be definitely sure of the short vRS badge and full facelift kit, it has to be a 54 (Sept 2004) or later.

Car looks good - good shine to it and nice pics

strangely im not that keen on the later style lights, too much white in them, i find these more subtle,

i cant see that thing about gear ratios being right either

whats this short ratio business? the gears already seem to be very short, not sure that i would want them any shorter, unless that is that my box is already the short ratio affair

well mine is an 04 with SHORT rear badge

and it has

old style rear lights

middle lap belt

silver rear door pins

bit of a frankenstein haha

I can beat that, mine has old style lights, a short badge rear door locking pins, one touch indicators, new dash material, middle 3 point belt. and is a sept 04

Blimey - a switchover period maybe, but this is ridiculous!

Didn't realise there was this much variation.

Gearbox - short ratio is perhaps misleading. The original Fab vRS gearbox (lauch until perhaps Feb 04??) had a longer sixth gear. Equates to a couple hundred RPM difference in 6th. A bit better fuel economy on long trips, but means more changes down to 5th for acceleration.

cleaned the archs and wheels today

You're keen! :D

Cleaning the calipers is a good idea though. Shame they'll need doing so often due to brake dust.

Bought some new plates and partook in some wheel cleaning and exhaust polishing today.

First off, new numberplates, nothing exciting like 3/4 size, or illegal spacing etc etc

1.jpg

Then decided to try some Meguiars Wheel cleaner.

Inground dirt and brake dust on wheels before cleaning

Applying the wheel cleane

4.jpg

Leave to dry for a few moments, sponge off, dry and the end result

Then onto the exhaust, I find using Brasso Duraglit a good cheaper polisher for chrome or stainless exhausts.

6.jpg

The exhaust before, note this was after sponging loose crap off.

Leave for a few mins, then polish off with kitchen towel

There you go, my day today

Very impressive. I wish I had the ability to spend all day cleaning my car! Well here's to hoping that when I get the replacement car I at least try!
