Its time for me to upgrade my phone. Currently have an orange SPV which I quite liked (once I got it unlocked) despite its Microsoft operating system.. Orange have a very limited choice of phone with this type of spec and I wondered if any of you lot had a Motorola XP200 or new generation SPV. What I like about the SPV is being able to play movies etc. with pocket TV, E Mails, MSN messenger on mobile etc. and I believe the Motorola has the same operating system. Would welcome any advice on alternative products that anyone might have experience of.

XDA2? No experience, but read raving reviews.

Did think of an XDA but pricey !!! Then again handy for linking to GPS etc.

Check out expansys.com for examples of sim-free handsets, then see if Orange do them?

There are new handsets that are available 'abroad' right now that feature live TV - but kill the battery in about an hour, IIRC... :)

My bro has a XDAII which is ok as a pda and ok as a phone.

personally id get a small blutooth phone, and a Ipaq with blutooth :)

I've moved from an SPV to the Treo 600. It's fantastic, a vast improvement over the SPV. Check it our, be sure to spend a decent amount of time with it if you're not familiar with PalmOS though.

You could also take a gander at The Register. Specifically the mobile devices news section. They have general news items and reviews, etc...

Yeah but don't ya need BIG pockets.

Still like my SPV E100, its even better with the 1.6 rom upgrade. The battery lasts for days now and not hours, and its harly crashed since. I like the look of the E200, but as I play games on mine, and the joystick on the new phone is only 4 way it looses my vote.

Whatever you do, dont join the 3 network. Several members will testify to dropped calls.

But did you pay for it? ;)

I have a libretto right here, one of the last to be produced a 110CT. Great little machine, goes everywhere with me on holiday because its so compact and has good battery life. Currently running WinME.
