Painting 312mm calipers

Featured Replies

Unfortunately when it comes to items remotely mechanically orientated I am not the brightest spark. Currently partially painted my new 312mm calipers with hammerite but on the front of the main caliper bit there is a thin alloy wire (does it hold the pads in place???) anyway I wasn't going to paint it but does it come off easily to make the painting easier or should i be leaving it on????

Yep it's the retaining spring pin, this can be easily removed and replaced, takes a bit of force to get back in though and can sometimes scratch the caliper as you have to hook it in one end and position into the other hole.

Bet youre glad you fitted the brembos now ;-)

none of that nonsense.

Just got to worry about the wheels scratching the paint :D

it's all good, so long as you don't do what a certain unamed brother of mine did after fitting his brembos...make sure any spacers you fit are thick enough before driving down the road :D

**** thing is, wheel limitation with the brembos.

my superlegerras are getting on my tats, what an effort to clean.

doesnt look like the room is that tight.
