After market reversing sensors

Featured Replies

Hello chaps I have bought an aftermarket reversing sensor kit of fleabay and I want a picture of the rear bumper on a octy 1 with the factory fitted sensors so I can fit the sensors in the right place .

To any one who's interested here's the link to the sensors cos I thought they were good value and came colour coded to the car which is silver .

have a look at my thread in Styling and Car care, " gave her a good seeing to" and look at pickies 5 and 6. My parking aid was fitted by a main dealer, but may help.

Dont mean to be funny mate but are they an exact match?

They might look crappy with the colour out

yeah I know what you mean but I am going to fit them this weekend and if the colours out by a lot I will get them sprayed to match properly as they are paintable .

Mine's clean in this photo :D

That colour match is spot on!

Hmm, they do look to be a very good match. Thanks for the heads up on these, Scottie, but I think I'm still probably going to go OEM and pop them in the rub strip, little bit worried about taking a drill to my bumper! If I screw up on the rub strip, it's just a rub strip, no great shakes!

Hi All,

I got interested in fitting after market sensors for my vRS as well. One question though :)

How have you run the wires to the inside of the boot? Do you have to drill holes to the metal or are the existing ones that you can use?

cheers,

juha

There's an existing hole & grommit, the kit should have a new grommit with hole for the wires, as a direct replacement.

Fred.

what happens if u have a trailer on the back? I notice all the sample "rear" pics don't have towbars :-) I assume with a trailer, the thing would just start to beep as soon as reverse was selected!
