No, but some people do take the mick a little:

Only thing worse than following someone with a caravan is following someone with a horse box

Chris

don't do it !

Why does the 747 have B-52 engine pods + external fuel tanks on it????

IIRC thats the Jumbo parked at Dunsfold (TopGear of course).

Horse boxes ARE worse. They are usually 25 year old piles of smokey sh|t that have a top speed of 4.

Totally Agree, Who in there right mind would do it

Probably have a big 4x4 as well

We have fun though

I always find I am being held up by other cars, trucks, horse boxes, vans, tractors, cyclists, horse riders, and other caravans  ....but not coaches, they spend most of their time trying to force caravaners of the road

I wouldn't object to caravans so much if they were licensed, MOT'd and insured.

Many Tin Tents spend most of their life parked up and then out of the blue it's owner will drag it out, not bother to maintain it, over load it and then hook it up to his vastly under powered car in preperation for some traffic chaos.

Having travelled back from Cornwall to Cambridgeshire today, some of the sights I've seen have been outrageous. The worst by far was a transit towing a caravan towing a Micra with a rigid bar - is that even legal?

So many Rover 75s down on their bumpstops too...

Got overtaken by an Octavia Estate towing a caravan... I was doing 70 on cruise, and he must have been doing 90.... :thumbdwn:

It was however nice to see the Police at Michaelwood services checking all the caravan tyres in the carpark! :)

I agree with Stu - there should at least be an annual MOT like check... and weigh ins etc, so many vehicles are overloaded for sure...

Must admit I would be quite happy if they did do that, as I suspect all real caravaners would..........BUT it would mean more caravans on the road (going to and from services and mot's)

That's the one that's not under powered, overloaded, and badly maintained then

I hate the **** heads who try to overtake you, even when you are traveling just above the speed limit just because you have a caravan on the back:rofl:

As my warranty on the van covers it for 6 years, it has to be serviced yearly.

As it's only around

The V10 Tourag actually did tow that 747, but that is a decommissioned one used for films & promo work and has fake 'hollywood' engines. Still, pretty impressive though!

IIRC the engine pods and slipper tanks were done for Casino Royale (Daniel Craig, not Woody Allen).

I love that picture :)

That's a very good point, Rob, and an excellent reason to just scrap them altogether ;)

Chris

I got a better idea lets scrap anything that's slower than me when I am towing my caravan........should clear about 50% of this countries roads

Surely not Rob. I mean I am convinced that you would be acting within the boundries of the law whilst having such things tethered to your poor unsuspecting Superb.

Or an even better idea - lets get rid of both :P:rofl:

Chris

Caravans... where were they then? I was a bit more concerned about the great big earth movers on the A34 slowing the progress badly.

i find horse boxes/trailers more of a hinderence on the road than caravans
