That was the undertray, both airbags had gone off and it was a CAT C write off. I crashed it on the motorway as i was going a tad quicker than i should have been and some dumb bint pulled into my lane doing 55mph, had no were else to go unless i wanted to go into 2 trucks in the 1st and 2nd lane or into the central reservation and possibly go into on coming traffic. Think i hit the back of the van at about 80mph then swerved across all 3 lanes and down the embankment.

So who's fault was it in the end up?

Thats the worst thing that can happen is slower traffic just pulling out willy nilly.

Considerting the two options there

1 - Braking hard and potentially having cars ram back to back causing huge tailbacks etc

2 - What you did.

Although there is also option 3 which is to anticipate that a van in lane 2 closing on a lorry overtaking a lorry in lane 1 is highly likely to come out (probably without looking or indicating) and bring your closing speed down accordingly so that when the "unexpected" does happen you have plenty of time and space to brake.

Must have been a hell of a bang though and I bet the van driver now uses their mirrors a bit more!
