MOT Expiry

Featured Replies

Had MOT on 24th August. Certificate lists test date as 24/08/07, expiry date as 31/08/08. Is that right?

I would guess your old one expired at the end of month, hence the forward dating.

:iagree:

You can have your MOT carried out up to 4 weeks before the old one expires and it will be dated as valid for 12 months from when the old one runs out, providing you take your old certificate along with you.

If it's your first MOT when the car is three years old, the same rules apply if you take your registration document with you and it can be carried out up to 4 weeks before the due date and the certificate will the run for 12 months from the anniversary of the car's first registration.

If the last test was computerised it will forward date automatically without the tester seeing the old certificate.
