The mongrel is ready for Czech...

Featured Replies

But is Czech ready for the mongrel?!! :D

Have almost finished cleaning her now. Still got a little bit of work to the inside to finish off, but externally she's basically there except for a coat of wax on the alloys.

Here's some pics. Got a few extra stickers especially for the trip, most of them done DIY using a yellow sunstrip as a base.

Looking very clean. Note CZ in rear window. Done using a "N" from prior mongrel translation, and a matching C.

This is the gear used. YES, I did use the hammerite "wheel touch up kit" in places. Love the blue zymol - smells so good I wanted to drink it....

Beam deflectors already fitted (Thanks, Steve  ) I think the bonnet might need claying again....

The view down the nearside.

This is the neighbours toyota taken in the nearside back door. Only washed today and not re-clayed or waxed. It's "OK" for me, and a big improvement on what the paint was like prior to last week's claying at Edition 38. Also, my camera is crap.

Skoda Auto - new sticker off Ebay. Note "normal" CZ in back window again.

"hybrid" is apparently the closest to "Mongrel" I'm going to get in Czech. The literal word for mongrel is "krezenec", but that literally meant a mongrel dog, so couldn't be applied to my car....

Yes, the SDI badge is on a little topsy turvy.... I should have taken more time over that. It won't be on the car long anyway. :D

Looking down the offside. Newly colour coded LPG filler cap. :) and my "must be redone again" colour coding attempt of the door handles as well.

Brake luvliness. Tyres dressed with turtle was premier tyre dressing stuff.

Guess where I'm going Tuesday night! :woohoo:

WAIT UNTIL YOU LOT SEE THE FELICIA (only for those going on the trip until after Sept 17th!)

that looks ace Jase, lets hope the soot doesnt stick ;)

The soot will not be present. I don't think I'll be in the same sootiness condition as the last trip. :D

Mongrel now looks the business!

Btw - you really should come up with a Mongrel insignia - perhaps some kind of dog?

And dont go drinking the Zymol Jase - can make you go blind, dont you know....

Cheers

Bas

That looks very nice Jason

Best bit is - I don't have flappy loose wheelarch liners this time. :D

But I'm still bringing a roll of duck tape with me. :o

You can do Adam's when were waiting for the ferry :D

Looks good Jas

Shame there will be no soot down the Autobarn's though ;)

Well, I'm all done now. I had fun emptying all the crap out from around my LPG tank in the spare wheel well and re-packed it for all the new stuff. Had to take my first aid kit out the box and shove it in in the bags, due to lacking space. But it all went in nicely and the Millers is nicely placed to be able to get it at every fuel stop.

Best bit is once my spare wheel went in (taking 17" TT comp wheel as a spare :D) There was a decent sized gap in front of the battery. ;) So, I've put my B&Q bucket in there, and just put the bottles of "stuff" in it to use when we get there. :) There'd better be a tap at the Doksy show.

I've also used Meguairs NXT plastic trim stuff for the first time on my dash, etc - DAMN it's good! Best black plastic trim conditioner I've ever used.

Car is finished now and is itching to go. I'm almost loathed to use it for two days to get to work and back. :o

Wonder if there will be an influx of Czech members on 'TDI' after your visit?

Looking good - glad the deflectors arrived in one piece

Slightly Downhill Injection.

I'm not sure what to take in the way of cleaning stuff. Will probably just try and dry clean ready for Saturday with QD and something for the wheels.

You bring the tape, I'll bring the cable ties! :D

I prefer your home made CZ. to the "normal" one on the other side, maybe cos it look's a bit like O·Z :o

duck tape  :D

Yep, another sticker for the car
