A Leon Cupra R? Really? Utter tosh. Was he parked? Were you in a traffic jam? A cupra R would eat you for breakfast, even more if it was mapped.

Actually - have you taken any mustangs like a king? :curious:

So much utter tosh that my friend actaully has a 225 cupra r 53 plate with a revo remap and he can select the standard 225 bhp or the revo'd 270bhp,

At the standard 225bhp The Fabia keeps up with it until around 100+ where the gearing on the diesel lets it down.

Obviously when revo'd to 270 bhp it pulls away but not by much and most definitely not substantially enough to warrant the price and insurance:rolleyes:

I was keeping up with an Audi R8 Today Flat Out...

- Oh, Then I woke up.

Listen: There used to be a sticky under the 'fabia' section -

People got so fed up with saying that the fabia could keep up with "XXXX" that it was made a general rule not to post up comments like the one you have above.

I'm sorry but there is no way that a remaped Fabia will keep pace with a 225bhp Leon....

I've owned a remaped Fabia and I'd say its just about on a par with my totally standard Octavia VRS in terms of acceleration, but even then I'd imagine that the Octavia would easlity start to pull away way well before the 100 mph mark....

Don't get me wrong the Fabia is a great car, its more fun to drive than my Octavia and remapped it can give quite a few people a shock :D

I had a standard Fabia, a remapped Fabia, a standard Leon Cupra R, and remapped Leon Cupra R. When I tell people, they're not a match for each other, it's unheard off, must be untrue.

For fun the Fabia cant beat I drive both fabia and golf Gti the fabia is more fun because people dont expect it to be fast and is more fun when it comes to putting fuel in it lol

No Sir - You are just wrong.

I mean if it was a 2.0L Fabia then you might be in with a chance ;)

Nuff said, Boyakasha. *Clikz Fingerz* In Ur faces 2wice!

Typical Type-R owners are level headed, and generally not noobs......

Handbags down now ladies!

A leon cupra r, unless it fubar'd or driven by a Type R driver :D will p*ss all over a Fabia (remapped or not). It's a superior package in all departments.

So the answer to the original question - Buy a Cupra R instead

LOL Superior package. Please, don't give advice on a car you've never owned, and most likely never sat in. Reading magazines don't mean anything.

The Leon Cupra R, is much faster, but.... it is not a better car IMO.

I think it's more to do with the fact that you are highly obnoxious, and feel the need to disagree with everything and everyone.

If i'd said the Fabia was superior, you would have been up in arms about how much better the Leon is, simply in a vain attempt to make yourself appear to be all seeing and all knowing.

I've never sat in a Veyron, but on the balance of probabilities, on most days i'd say it is superior to my old Cavalier. Of course, until i drive a Veyron, i guess i will never know for sure will I?

Your a weird one you. I tell you I'm actually preferring the Fabia over the Leon, and you've turned all menopausual on me.

And, comparing a banger, to a modern supercar there will be a difference, but what are you comparing? Eh?

The Fabia and the Leon are very evenly matched, nearly in size and in other departments. My advice to you, is before you comment on a car, test drive one. To put it frank, atleast sound like you know what your on about, rather than guesswork. It shows... ;)

You said in an earlier post that the Fabia is no match for the Leon.

Now i'm agreeing with you, the Fabia is better all of a sudden.

Well now it's my turn- The leon is utter rubbish, Fabia's are the greatest and black is white. Unless of course someone agrees with me, and i'll then change my mind and argue to the contrary because it makes me feel good about myself.

::P

You said the Leon was far superior to the Fabia.

I said it's quicker, but laughed at your comment.

Personaly preference, I preferred the Fabia. AND. It's not quicker.

 I thought, writing it a bit simple would help you. :D:rofl: ;)

That seems fair to me, although joking apart i'm interested to hear why you think the Fabia is a better car?

my opinion on the leon vs fabia topic are

leon is far superiour looks wise

Interior is much nicer

Electrically folding in mirrors are pimp ;)

Insurance and running cost would not be to my tastes though

Fabia gets my vote insurance wise, tax wise and MPG wise

That seems fair to me, although joking apart i'm interested to hear why you think the Fabia is a better car?

Handling

The Fabia, with Eibach springs... handles the same as the standard Leon Cupra R.

They both understeer into corners, they both nose dive when accelerating out of corners, they are both nose heavy.

The Fabia's steering was accurate, nimble, but only progressive when it was dry. In the rain, it was terrible when pushing on around corners.

The Leon's steering, was extremely heavy and to be honest, not a big feedback response.

Braking

The standard brakes are far superior in the Leon running 322mm discs and Brembo calipers, they ought to be. It stops a very heavy car very quickly without brake fade. Remember, two average people in an Leon Cupra R and your nearly at 1500KG, so they're fantastic.

Not great in the Fabia, very spongy feel.

Power

I sold the Fabia vRS in December, and purchased the Leon Cupra R. I test drove the Cupra R, and was extremely dissapointed. It didn't feel fast at all. Didn't think it was as fast as 'my' Fabia. But, then I realised the 'torque' feeling.

The Leon really is a much faster car, and the only way to tell, is look at the ground travelling by so quickly, and the speedo rising up a lot more.

The middle of the Speedo on the Fabia is 60mph, on the Leon it is 80mph, that is also a mind trick. Got to high speeds very quickly. Especially when remapped.

Interior

The interiors, are both a bit blunt really, I loved the Fabias controls, all in hand reach, but there was nothing sporty about the interior apart from the Seats. When rain specs would hit the seats, it left stains, silly being White, leather should have been standard.

The worst thing about the Leon's, and Seats in general, is the rattles. They all rattle, they all have an annoying creak that you can't get too. And mine had loads.

The Leon is a much bigger car, with different needs, a huge boot, and comfortable leg room in the rear, you don't get that in the Fabia.

Comfort

The Leon can travel at higher speeds and feel much more relaxed, more sturdy, and a stronger road prescense. Difficult in town driving, as mentioned before, the steering was hugely heavy.

Fabia is quick, great around town, light steering, a real joy to take anywhere.

Costs

The Fabia wins everything here.

I know the Fabia is no where near as fast as the Leon, but it's not about speed, it's about fun.

And when you think you've just paid £17995 for a brand new Leon Cupra R, which has good performance and braking but crap elsewhere, it really is hard to understand why anyone would buy one new? It doesn't do anything else that the Fabia cannot do.

So for me, the £11,500 supermini Fabia vRS is my choice. A better car!

How does your CTR compare with the Fabia?

How does your CTR compare with the Fabia?

can of worms

How does your CTR compare with the Fabia?

lol . I don't think that would interest anyone. :)

i think i want a bigger pic posting of that engine bay:thumbup:

i found the fto to be hard work at times, and cruising on the motorway it was loud, with the ctr being of similar tech i would imagine the two to be quite similar, with the newer ctr being better built,1990's jap cars are hardly well known for build quality:D
