I did the same, spent quite a bit of money on the vRS only to part ex it soon after :o I got bored of it, don't get me wrong it was quick but not... fast lol.

To make full use of the Revo remap I had, I decided an uprated clutch was needed, but never got round to buying one thankfully.

Blueflame sounds better than the Milltek ;)

Funny.....asking whether to keep a Fabia vRS or get a Vauxhall/ Renault instead on a Skoda Fabia forum. The answers will mostly be a little predictable......

What?

Get a Honda!!;):D

  • 4 months later...

have to say just got a mazda 3 mps aero after 13 months of VRS, just fancied something with more power!

To add, my fabia vrs is remapped along with a fewer other choice mods and it held of a 197 clio, was nothing in it :)

Last night an old mk2 mr2 tried to overtake me.... lets say it couldnt and had to pull back in, twas funny

I quite fancy a porsche, get a boxter sub £10k, my sister had one, first rear wheel drive sports car and she spun it in town right into brand new A6 lol.

As for the thread...it's such a huge jump in insurance and running costs (and nickability) for a lot of these cars for not much extra oomph(obviously better round bends though).

Stick to the stealth car

Drove the Clio 197 today. Stopped at a Renault garage to kill some time.

Absolutely loved it, and it sounded great, a better choice over the Fabia anyday!

Your a PRAT who bums his civic, your opinion means **** all :rofl::rofl:

And the fabia is gp9, 50mpg, cheap to tax, what more do you want??

Keeps up with many other hot hatches.

If its any consolation, last weekend, I had a "play" against a CTR (old shape) and he let me pass him to start with, then when I pulled back in, he sailed by!!! :o ah, well, I'n no gonna compete when I only have circa 160 bhp and he has circa 200bhp! lol... there ya go, level headednes..... ;)

I love this place too. Probably for different reasons than you though.

Not forgetting, he's actually had a remap.

I'll admit to being a pratt, if you admit to stop dreaming... :D:thumbup:

i had a mitsubishi fto gpx, with a tiptronic slush box in it and, even tho i hate to admit it would have eaten any mapped fabia for breakfast, and god knows how many horses it was losing with the auto in it,if i can recall it wasn't particularly lightwieght either, but revving up to 8k was awesome and the noise was ace

Is that on a straight piece of road up a slight incline?

wasnt the fto the one that was really fast in a straight line, but terrible in the corners? a friend of mines dad had one...... circa 220 bhp ish? can't quite remember...

then he swapped it for a GTO... now that was nice

no,the fto was the one which was awesome in the twisty's,even better with uprated arbs and lowering springs,it was a 200hp mivec 2.0 v6 and fwd,it never felt thay quick, and the change in cams at about 5500rpm wasn't as pronounced as the ctr.

Nope, in bed, fast asleep, snugged into the pillows.

A Leon Cupra R? Really? Utter tosh. Was he parked? Were you in a traffic jam? A cupra R would eat you for breakfast, even more if it was mapped.

Actually - have you taken any mustangs like a king? :curious:

I must admit, the new Clio 197 looks superb - the proportions are just right and I saw a blue one today - real road presence, although not as much as the V6 Clio - monstrous! :)

I've been thinking about gettin rid of my Vrs for last few months, as i would like somethin abit bigger with abit more power:D Bin looking at Astra VXR, Focus ST3 and a Mazda 3MPS.

Had a test drive in a asbo Focus ST3 last week, was impressed by the looks and the interior, but i was dissapointed with the performance, didnt feel much quicker than my furby i was expecting it to be rapid with a 2.5 turbo:( I have now looked more closely at the running costs (i.e insurance, mpg, tax) and there is massive difference compared to the Vrs.

I am planning a remap this week, if it makes a noticable difference im gona keep hold of it for now?

You cant beat the furby for running costs:thumbup:

agree with this mate had a test drive in an astra vxr and was seriously disappointed with it and zero space for children the fabia feels so much quicker and that is all that matters to me keep it mate and mod if you ave the cash

Actually - have you taken any mustangs like a king? :curious:

Come on be serious we're talking about a Fabia VRS here - not a 2.0l Fabia
