wel do you think if got an air filter and exhaust and remap i would need the clutch doing? Or could i leave the exhaust and air filter and a dragon box and hav a happy clutch?

stick with the fabia, sort chassis and brakes before a re map tho if you have a look at the eventually got my vrs thread on here i have sugested a few choice mods to get the blood flowing,in fact you could have them all done for the price of a new car:D

Funny.....asking whether to keep a Fabia vRS or get a Vauxhall/ Renault instead on a Skoda Fabia forum. The answers will mostly be a little predictable......

At the end of the day it all depends on what YOU want :)

you will be disappointed with a Clio 197 , the Corsa VXR looks to be a belter of a car , although i haven't driven one ,yet , but if it was me i'd stick with the VRS and mod it to your spec

im in the same boat, next april i would of had my car a year and that means i can sell it and my options are to get another vrs or a focus st2 its a tough decision as head says vrs and heart says st .

I have had a Clio 172 easily the worst car I have owned with the crapiest dealers, The Corsa is supposed to be very well built and very nippy but the looks will only appeal to the under 23 age group, stick with Skoda the grass always looks greener on the other side.

I do like the new clio 197, very classy car IMO

It's a proper pocket monster, had a run against one of these as was all over me, you can get one with sub 200 miles for a grand less than the asking.

Renault keep bringing revisions of their sporty Clios/Meganes out every other month. I've never heard good things about a French car...

I've always fancied one of those V6 clios but I never seem to see any of them knocking around, did they fall to bits or does no one own one in northern England or Scotland? I quite fancy a porsche, get a boxter sub £10k, my sister had one, first rear wheel drive sports car and she spun it in town right into brand new A6 lol.

Then again something like those cars I would only run for a year.............then realise how much I could of saved with the Fabia on fuel, servicing etc

Clio 197 will triple your insurance quote! - it did me anyway - hence why i got a fab

Obviously never spoke to me about my experience of the clio then lol

You have to remove the engine to service the car - not cheap!

There are a few knocking around, there supposed to be a bit poor on handling especially in wet weather - prob why u not seen any this year!

Go on ClioSport.net...fair few with em on there. See what people say about the 197 and the v6.

corsa VXR is some serious spec for what it is, u can pick em up with low mileage for around 14.5 last time i was having a mooch...

It depends what you want really. The Corsa is a very sorted car so it'll be a question of do you want to just change, or do you want to plough a few thousand into the Fabia to get similar performance but better mpg...

My advice would be to try and get one for a reasonable test drive and take it over routes you know well so you can compare it to your current car. 197 may be worth a drive also, but Renault seem to be going soft on the Clio again :thumbdwn:

Chris

I've been thinking about gettin rid of my Vrs for last few months, as i would like somethin abit bigger with abit more power:D Bin looking at Astra VXR, Focus ST3 and a Mazda 3MPS.

Had a test drive in a asbo Focus ST3 last week, was impressed by the looks and the interior, but i was dissapointed with the performance, didnt feel much quicker than my furby i was expecting it to be rapid with a 2.5 turbo:( I have now looked more closely at the running costs (i.e insurance, mpg, tax) and there is massive difference compared to the Vrs.

I am planning a remap this week, if it makes a noticable difference im gona keep hold of it for now?

You cant beat the furby for running costs:thumbup:

I looked in to an S3, ST and Mazda 3 Sport Aero Kit. all second hand. The additional running cost of petrol cars, more expensive services, more expensive insurance...etc, stick with the FAB bank for buck is unmatched!

youll all be glad to know im going to spend some money on the fabia.

Next question tho is what exhaust do i get and which springs. anyone got a vid clip of a furby with cat back system?

blueflame or milltek, or could go custom?

springs well youve got coilovers, or H&r, eibach...

In regard to the car, keep it definitely.

On the factor of servicing at main dealers.....I'd be tempted to get rid, and see it the grass is greener given my experience of *some* (not all) dealerships.

However it we are talking about a car that's past its warranty - then the second point no longer applies - and no incentive to have it serviced by Skoda UK, so definitely keep !

no its stil in warrenty with just over a year and i plan on only bolt on mods for that reason.

i only want springs not coilovers which would you reccommend?

is the milteck loud, does anyone hav a video clip?
