Octavia vRS in white

Featured Replies

Hey guys,

Just browsing through the gallery and these particular pics caught my eye.

Is Skoda planning to release the vRS in white as I think it looks rather cool! A bit late for me though as I ordered my Octy vRS last weekend in brilliant silver and can't wait to drive it!

I don't think its an official option in the UK yet, although a few of the dealers seem to be able to "tweak" the ordering system and get hold of them. Simpsons in Colne and Preston had a couple, and somewhere in Scotland had an estate. Possible another one down south??

It does look well in white - we saw a few on our recent trip to Czech, and also noticed that white was one of the most common colours on the production line when we visited the Skoda factory.

Edit - Looks like the Simpson demonstrator may still be for sale if its not too late to change your mind - printed_leafletframeset.

That looks like such a cool car! I do still have time to change it as I'm going in later today to sign the documentation for it (might lose my £250 deposit tho :( )

I've looked at it and would love to have it except for a few minor details:

1. The re-map says it's rated at 285bhp - I don't think my insurance would see it as an 'advantage' over the standard 200bhp (I'm only 26 nearly!)

2. It's petrol and the Octy I ordered is diesel (I'm a convert in that respect)

3. It's rather lacking in extras

4. Got a wife to keep happy and I don't think she'd be so enthusiastic as I!

Apart from that, it's a damn good looking car!

Saw plenty of vRS Octy II's in White in CZ. Both in Estate & Saloon models and the do look good

Buy it!!!!!

Buy it!!!!!

I really would but I've heard that divorce is expensive these days!

I think it's set to become a rare sight on the UK roads as it appears SUK have closed the door on the white option tweak.

Also I know that you think it's 285HP Ants but it can't be mate. Take it for a realsitic RR run and it might be more appealing to buyers.

That can only be a good thing. I still think white is not a great colour for a car and this is from someone that used to own a white car.

Unlike that Race Blue Colour, common as muck they are :D

I contacted SUK to ask why we can't order the vRS in white in the UK and this is the reply I received:

"I am pleased to advise you that you are able to order a new Octavia vRS in Candy White. Although this colour is not publicised as being available in the Octavia vRS range, we have incorporated this on an individual order request basis.

Your nearest retailer will be able to make the necessary arrangements for you when you are ready to order.

I trust this information will prove to be of some use to you and thank you for taking time to contact us.

P.S. Stu did you notice that the car shown in the pics at the start of this thread has the same Reg No as the one you photographed in the car park in Czech?

I think white is one those colours that a car looks great in or it just looks wrong. Personally I think the octy looks great in white but that's just my opinion for what it's worth!

White cars seem to be making a comeback at the moment, don't know why. Unfortunately it's also prone to going out of date again just as quickly. Remember the late eighties and early nineties?

Stu,

I'm only going of what the guy who tuned it said, and also from what knowledgeable people, who have driven it have said.

But, you're right, it does need to go on a decent RR to be sure.

Anyone got one we can try for free???

I didn't notice the reg numbers Phil.

I asked my local dealer who in turn asked his brand support manager or whatever they are called at HQ and he told him that they were aware that some had been 'smuggled' into the country but it wouldn't happen again and that they couldn't be ordered.

It does seem silly that if there is a market for them not to offer it.

Ants

Wasn't having a dig mate but I'm sure you know and are aware of the lengths that some people on here have gone to and still can't achieve anywhere near that power.

Octavia II looks cool in white . Dont know why SUK dont offer the white in Vrs when they do in other models .

  • 2 weeks later...

Has anybody managed to order a vRS in white yet then?

It looks like I may be getting the go ahead to order a new company car (palming my current one off on a new recruit :) ) I called Slacks in Middlesbrough to ask for a lease quote and he said it couldn't be ordered in white, he also hasn't bothered emailing the quote over either  a leasing company I found on the net hasn't bothered sending me a quote back after a request either, everyone must have too much business on!

I'm becoming rather taken with the Leon FR TDi which can be ordered in white and is cheaper, this would be to my advantage for Company car tax. Once I get a definate go ahead i'll be test driving both.

Leon FR in white with 18s' or Octavia vRS in Race Blue with 18s'

It's going to be a tough choice I think.

If you want to order a vRS in white, then I know that Ashmore Green Skoda in Newbury will be more than happy to help you.

A while back, they bent over backwards to ensure that I could have heated front seats in my vRS (even though they are not a standard UK option). I'm certain they would do the same if you want to order a white vRS.

They deal with most of the major lease companies (mine was a company motor), so you should be okay on that front.

Cheers,

Bagpuss.
