Like I said at the beginning of the season.......'it's all over for Rossi'. The pressure got to him and he couldn't handle it..................even heard on today's MotoGP pre-race info, that some teams (Rossi's) were trying to change the tyre rules for next year. :P :P :P ----- sore losers!

Anyway, if you go outside and cup your hand to your ear, you can clearly hear the fat lady singing.

Failing that, do a search on youtube for Michelle McManus and you can watch the fat bird singing.

You cannot deny that over the last 4 or 5 years Rossi has been fantastic to watch in the Moto GP and I'm sure without him the racing would not have been as interesting.

That said, I'm sort of glad that the last two seasons have provided other winners as there was a danger of 'the Schumacher effect' spoiling the Moto GP.

It would be interesting if all the teams had the same tyres and even bikes, then we'd see who the real class riders are!

I'm not saying Stoner doesnt deserve the Title this year, hes won it. Its not sour grapes or anything but he's been quted himself saying that they need the electronics to make the bikes rideable nowadays because of the power theyve got. Rossi even statde before all this bumph about the tyres that he'd love to do 'away' with the electronics, traction control etc etc, that way it would be 'only the SKILL of the rider' that had a say in winning races. Ducati have without a doubt the best electronics package this year (because theyve done there homework with the 800) this is probably THE main reason for Stoners success this year. Remember him last year on a non Factory bike without the Advanced Electronics that he has on the Ducati??? Its well known that Stoner's throttle hand is to the stop (opened fully) before he even gets to the Apex on most corners. To me, unless you have the same electronics package or, youve at least got electronics that is in the same league, then theres nowt much you can do about it, EVEN if your name is Valentino Rossi. I think Stoners Success this year is down to Ducati doing there homework with the 800, there electronics and, maybe, the Bridgestone tyres. I certainly dont think its because Stoner is/was the better rider over Rossi. I say let the tyre rule stay the same, but take away the 'rider aids'. Just my 2p worth!

Glad someone agrees!!! I just dont see how anyone can compare Stoner, or even think that he's in the same league as Rossi??? Everybody knew what to expect from Rossi because he'd won Championships in 125 and 250 but Stoner?? He's won nowt!!! Like i said, take away traction control etc etc, let the Riders decide who's going to win the race, after all, isnt that what bike racing is all about?? Thats why weve all been been HUGE fans in previous years, we dont want Bridgestone, Michellin, Dunlop etc decideing whos going to win do we?? Another thing that bothers me aswell.....does anyone really think the Stoner is even better than Pedrosa???

Rossi's days are over. Last year it was all down to the last race, this year there's still 3 to go and he might not even finish 2nd.

I read somwhere that this won't happen until the other GP teams reduce there cars performance to less than Rossi's, otherwise it's just not fair.

Technology ruined F1 and now it's in danger of doing the same to MotoGP - fair enough it is a prototype series but traction control is going a bit far. At least they seem to have cottoned on and are changing the rules.

As for the tyre thing, it's a bit much to say that the Rossi camp are asking for a rule change. It was last year's rule change which has mucked up Michelin this year. I think it would be a shame to lose the tyre manufacturer rivalry, but it's also a pity when once or twice this year races have been almost solely decided by tyre brand. It doesn't make for good racing. Credit to Stoner for riding so well all season - he had the best package but he was streets ahead of everyone else, even his teammate.

Anyway, I'm not sure what reason you could have for trying to knock Rossi. I mean, Schumacher was a miserable teutonic git and about as likeable as herpes. At least Rossi has a bit of personality to go with the immense talent.

So you seem to be admiting that Stoner has better tyres, better electronics, etc. and yet Rossi still manages to be second in the championship ? How do you then come to the conclusion that Rossi's days are over !!!

Hopefully next year all the manufactures will be nearer an equal level, so that the racing will remain close. but the riders input can determine the result.

Just look at Haydon this year, has he become a bad rider in the last twelve months ? or has the technology on his bike not kept up ?

They wrote Rossi off last year when Haydon won the championship, but he's not even in contention for second place this year.

Rossi will be back next year, as will several other contenders, all will have a chance, but I hope that it's the best rider that wins & not the bike with a far more advanced this, that, or the other.

Ants, for you to make a more valued input to this thread perhaps you would do well to go back over some of the past motogp/Rossi threads, where I have unquestionably agreed that Rossi was, and still is an exceptionally high quality rider.

My point is that his days of dominance are over!! His past successes are recognised and in my view, very well deserved. Unfortunately for him and his fans the motogp field has more talent in it now and therefore his talent is not shining through as brightly as it used to.

The results over the past 2 years would suggest that I am in fact correct.:P

Foz, sadly this is very unlikely to happen unless motogp run a one make championship, or you get the top runners in the same team. Only then can we see who the best rider is, be it Rossi/Stoner or whoever.

Until that happens, we can only go by the results as the rest is just opinion.
