...nope colt doesnt do it for me Im afraid.

Micra - not sure I could live with the looks but I know its supposed to be a very capabale car. Havent ruled out the Swift although Id have a nagging in my head telling me Im miising out on something if I bought the 1.5 (namely the 1.6 Sport which are too much money currently).. and the Panda still leads.

Thanks for the input so far guys.

go for a 52 plate low miler of a Fiesta Zetec-S...or go for the newer model, if ya can find one.

Superb car (the 52 plater). Nippy, good looking and handles brilliantly, so will be fun to drive!

Think the Fiesta is only available in a 3 door?

Yes Chris, think you are right. If they did a five dor that would be high on my list! :(

Depends if you want a go-kart or not :D

Swift Sport is brilliant, BUT! Stiffly sprung (Like 100hp Panda), needs 98RON petrol idealy, not as economical due to shorter gearing.

If the car is primarily for town use, the 1.5 is better suited, but still great fun on a twisty road :D I imagine that if you're looking at using a baby seat in the car, a stiffly sprung car is not gonna be ideal for the baby.

Panda 100hp is cheap enough, I think it looks nice and everyone says they're fun to drive, not tried one myself coz our dealer is a ****! :thumbdwn:
