It works both ways - the Jag X-type is 'just' a Ford mondeo. The Saab whatever is 'just' a Vectra. The only difference is that the VW association doesn't devalue the Skoda brand :P

I can only speak for myself when I say that, although I've ordered the Pug for SWMBO, I'm a little sad that She won't be driving a Furby vRS. I don't think people buy it because "it's really a VW", I think they buy it 'cos it's a bit different.

I have little doubt that the 207GT will depreciate at a greater rate of knots than the new Furby will. That said, the initial price of the Pug will help as surely the new vRS will have to cost more.
