Headphone recommendations

Featured Replies

Can anyone recommend some reasonable headphones/earphones for jogging? They don't have to be fantastic quality just something I can wear comfortably while running - I find my ipod earphones drop out every 10m which gets bloody irritating and means I spend more time walking than I do running:rolleyes:.

I don't really want to spend more than £20-£25 as they will be left in my sports bag which can get thrown about a bit.

Cheers,

Rob

I used to use those Sony MDR 71 thingies, but after running them over with a wheelie chair I decided to try some Sennheiser CX-300s. Which are ace. You do get some "body noise" though.

£18 from Play when I got mine.

I've got the Sony MDR-71s' referred to above.

Good full sound repro at the price (recently reduced from the eye-watering £35 they used to be) - but don't go losing the little ear bud things - they have a habit of coming loose, which mean you end up using a smaller bud, which then falls out of your ear all the time..........

The Sennhesiers are suppose to be really good - can't comment really, but I do have a stack of Sennheiser radio mics and they're bombproof.

I've got the oldest pair of Sony in-ear phones (MDR-7's I think) in the world. They've been used with computers, minidisk players, and now my Ipod and they still work and sound great.

The more store have got some belters.

but the More Store ones are only £1

I thought the Sonys were very good indeed, but I think the Sennheisers are just a little crisper and more detailed. They also fit my ears slightly better, though it's possible that I just needed the next size up of plug for the Sonys.

What is the more store? Have you got a link?

cheers guys. I had heard good things about the Sennheiser earphones but I wasn't sure if they'd stay in when I was running??

the Sennheisers are good - I have some of the little plug ones that goe right in your ear. Gread sound, but if you're walking about or running, you do get a bit of a thump thump thump every time your foot hits the ground.

I can vouch for the Sennheiser CX300s too. They'll stay in ok because they come with three interchangeable sizes of cushion. They're weird at first though because they seal so well that they create pressure inside your ear which feels unnatural. Because of this they'll also magnify every sound you make, including the earphone cable rubbing on your clothes! The sound is great, very rich with an astonishing smooth bass response.

I think I'll give the Sennheiser CX300 a go. I can always buy another set of earphones for running and save the Sennheiser for holidays etc

anothre vote for CX300's they are the dogs for the price

Another vote for Sennheiser, I have a set of headphones for my home stereo and they have excellent sound.

Another vote for Sennheiser CX-300. I got mine for £17 from Amazon (£40 in HMV).

If you like LOADS of bass you could try Koss Sparkplugs.

Another vote for Sennheiser CX-300. I got mine for £17 from Amazon

Same as me then. For some reason the silver ones I got were about a fiver cheaper than completely black ones
