I thought I was just buying a car,

from the look of this forum and the activity and events on it, it looks like I will be getting much more.

I havent got mine yet (ex demo octy vRS, 8 months old) but the deposit is down and I pick it up in 2 weeks. Cant wait.

I have had company cars for the last 5 years, mondeos vectras etc. but now I've got a new job and have to buy my own.

Now I have to admit that I was a bit put off by the Skoda name (dont know why having driven fords and vauxhalls for years), but one test drive in the vRS and I havent stopped smiling since. :D

I'm a convert

Excellent!

Welcome to the site :wavey:

welcome on board!

Welcome to the forum.

I Have to admit when I bought mine the badge thing was a niggle in the back of my head but I soon forgot about that coz I am having so much fun in it.

Now I like the fact that BMW's & mercs get a bit a shock when they see what is going past em :)

Speedie Im with you on that one, the best of all is passing TT's

yup have to admit it did bother me!! but now I say "screw you hippy"

Dose anyone else find going in there cars changes poeples opinions?

If I ever give anyone a lift that hasnt been in a Skoda before they always comment about it not being what they expected & are very impressed, always nice to hear :D

Totally agree about TT's (just makes it even better knowingthey paid at least half again as much for theres

For me, buying a car is a package deal.

I was looking for low mileage, reasonable level of kit, reliability and performance etc. What really makes me smile is that with the octy you get all that at a fraction of the cost of some other manufacturers. I havent got mine yet (I pick it up Monday the 3rd and cant wait) but I am looking forward to passing all those BMW drivers who have paid a fortune for an entry level 3 series car that is these days very common on the roads.

The fact that I will be passing them in a car with a badge that some people think detracts from the value of the car doesnt bother me at all having ridden in one. Besides I think the vRS looks the dogs b*ll*cks.
