Another Newbie!

I'm new here too...!

Picked up my black '03 Octavia vRS about a fortnight ago and haven't stopped grinning since. :)

I'm considering adding a tracking device to beef-up the security side of things. Can anyone recommend a system and also someone to install it in the Hampshire / West Sussex area..?

Thanks

Welcome on board!

Acutek (or Acutech) in Kinsworthy, near Winchester can do trackers, Small firm, been around for years & do a good job. If you cant find there details PM me & I will look them up in the phone book later. they can also retrofit reversing sensors if you havent got or want them. Bloody good on ICE etc etc etc

Oh & welcome. Next you have to get the car to Jabba for a remap. if your anywhere near Winchester & need convincing of the benefits I can take you for a spin in a Jabbad Octy, just PM me

I'm a complete novice on mods.

What exactly is a remap and what does it do?

What does it cost and would it affect my insurance?

Stuart, Thanks for the offer of a spin in your Jabbad Octy - If I'm going to be in the area, I'll send a PM.

Having part-exchanged a rather sluggish Pug 406 2.0 Coupe for the vRS, I'm enjoying the performance from the standard 180 BHP motor at the moment.

No doubt this will wear off in time. :)

@Lockstock and Nelson18, Pop over to Bruntingthorpe on Saturday if you can...good display and fume consumption from many walks of life. If you can't make it, stock = 2weetabix, remapped = 3 weetabix. Same thing just gives you more and nobody need know you had 3 weetabix ;)

Takes OEM 180BHP to 200+ through modifing parameters that the engines computer uses to set boost, timing, fuel etc. Various companies; Jabba, APR and Revo come to mind. A host of differences in cost and features between them all...it's a mine field really; but like the above analogy all give you 3 weetabix :D

See if you can escape to Brunters...not far for anybody; that was the plan at least. :D
