Honda Civic Type-R Diesel.....

Featured Replies

I'm not 100% but I think the mechanics of the diesel engine prevents it from getting past about 7000rpm. I know of a tuned one which can hit 6000 though. ;) I certainly can't see a turbo diesel ever being able to copycat the driving performance of a VTEC, at least not without some deliberate mis-tuning. :D

Surely the relatively long burn time of diesel will limit the revs. If too high the piston will be starting to go back up before the diesel has fully burned. Plus the long stroke of diesels will create mechanical issues at high RPM's.

It will be interesting to see what the Honda definition of high revving is. Maybe something like 6000 rpm will be the target.

It's going to be using the Accord's 2.2 Diesel engine.

180hp, 315 lbs of torque standard.

A nice remap should see that too 210-220bhp.

;)

uhhh you'll smell of derv lol hehe
