exhaust note

Featured Replies

I shall be having my car remapped in the not to distant future and I had thought about doing the exhaust at the same time.

I was just wondering which system gives the nicest sounding exhaust note (well loudest really). :D

Loudest......H&S decat.......H&S can probably make it even louder by reducing the size of the back box.

Too loud fo rmy taste....but sounds good when hooning around....blasting through the Medway tunnel springs to mind ;).....

....I have a Milltek dp/cat and a Jetex cat back.....loud enough and gives a meatier sound.

IMHO. ;)

When are you having it re-mapped as mine is booked in at powerflow on 4th of may for cat back system. Was supposed to be a full system but Still waiting for Jabbasport to sort out the downpipe & sports cat (mid may looks like now :( ) but will have it fitted later. Hopefully on the 21st or 22nd as it is booked in at UK Bodyshop on the 24th.

Your welcome to have a listen mate when i get it on

People will tell you that i always seam to have a quiet exhaust on my cars

H&S or Powerflow will be loudest. The H&S doesn't drone like the Powerflow one though. There will be a couple at the National meet with the H&S full decat systems.

From experience the custom Powerflow I had fitted to the previous RS sounded really good. The sound at low speeds etc was really 'throaty' but at Motorway speeds I can honestly say it wasn't intrusive.

However, a word of warning. IMO the quality of the Powerflow system leaves alot to be desired and I won't be having another fitted to the new RS. Cue H&S or Milltek.

if you want loud then go for powerflow... pauls megane would set off car alarms at 20 paces...

I need it to be quite loud. My renault 5 had a side exit, use to get flames on over run if I down shifted from 60mph into second gear. I'm really missing the noise of a loud exhaust.

Paul: all being well I should be having it re-mapped once the 5 has been sold, it should be in the trader either this week or next week.

I would say that the quality of H&S has gone down hill quite considerably in the 6 or 7 times i have had to go back there over the last 9-12 months

I am even considering replacing their backbox with a Powerflow one as IMHO is was better quality.

Has anybody looked into the possibilty of fitting a side exit exhaust to the octy vRS?

I think AAT is offering that. Earplugs recommended...

Ok ok - all calm down. At the Briskoda National track Meeting - I will SHOW you which exhaust makes the sweetest noise. you will be able to taste the titanium resonance in your mouth and you will be soothed by the deep throbbing.

The exhaust aint bad either.

Of course to actually drive it I will no doubt need my muffler in so that will knock off 50bhp :)

so that will knock off 50bhp

Do I detect some pre-emptive excuse making going on here? ;)

Do they have a website? if so what is the address. :)

Anyone think my exhaust was blurting, considering its a PD100? :D

I don't think it can be compared to the Supras/cossies/ or badger's seat. :D

Honestly couldn't really hear yours, Jason. Bill's was LOUD tho :D

Whitelighting has an HKS titatium race exhaust which IMHO is too loud.

It was funny watching the video my friend Debbie made on the hi-speed run - you could hear the car coming down the runway about 10 seconds before you could see it :)

Anyone think I was blurting,

Couldn't possibly comment. ;)

:D
