MPG for 1.6FSI Octy

Featured Replies

I am interested to hear what MPG any 1.6FSI owners out there achieve. I find that I get about 32-35 MPG. I do not have a particularly heavy foot and my best MPG of 35 for clear motorway driving at constant 70mph seems poor! I use Tesco 99 which makes the engine sound smoother and reduces pinking but does not seem to be having a noticeable effect on my MPG over RON95.

I get between 35-40 mpg on an average day with anything up to 50 mpg up and down the motorway on longer journeys

6,5 litres on german highway for me

8-9 litres in my small city

7.2 average for last 4000 km (80% city)

I am happy

I got about 40-41 MPG out of my previous 2 tanks (one with 95 RON, the other with 98)

This is for a combined drive with a fair amount (60-70%) of driving in town.

I'm currently just under 38 MPG with half a tank of 98 RON gone.

From my experience with my previous car (406 HDI), a drop in outside temperature (i.e. winter) will also provide lower MPG, so I expect higher values when summer comes back.

Hope this helps

I have for the last two years had between 37 and 47 mpg, on average I get 42 mpg calculated on tank stops (although the MaxiDot is quite exact). The 42 mpg I get a regular week by commuting 40 miles to work and the same route home on highway at 75 mph (besides the congestion that is...) plus some in town traffic.

i have a 2.0 fsi which going to and from work on nsl roads 9 miles there and same return (funny that), i can get between 30-40mpg. on a long journey keeping under 70 without a heavy foot i can get 40-50mg and booting it down the motorway/cross country i can get 30-35mpg.

36 or so around town. 45 easily achievable on long trips (but some of it is driver related - my wife can't get above 42 or so!)

11 gallons gets me 460 miles, thus 460 divided by 11 = snatch under 42mpg (that's a mix of dual & m-way).
