Ticket holder installation

Featured Replies

Does anyone know how to install the ticket holder onto the windscreen? It looks as if the trim panel should pull off but I've given it a gentle tug and it doesn't want to move on my Fabia 51 reg.

Many thanks in advance.

Welcome to Briskoda mate,

I'm not sure on how you would remove it mate, but I thought it was standard fitment for a ticket holder on all fabia's

you just need to give the panel a hard tug and it comes off. The ticket holder is atached to the body by a screw

My wife's 51-plate Comfy doesn't have one, but my 54-plate vRS does. I thought it was a spec issue, but maybe it's age? :ne_nau:

Don't recall my 2001 Fabia having one, but it wasn't something I'd ever have used so it might have been there and been ignored

i love my ticket holder (sad i know) it it so much better putting pay and display tickets there rather than on the dash...such a small thing, but extremely well thought out!

I prefer the ticket holder, handy instead of sticking them to the glass.

Mine hasn't got one of these would be useful though let me know how fitting goes as I wouldn't mind fitting one to mine :)

Clean hands - no tools or you mark the plastic - pull hard on top of pillar cover. Needs some strength.

Work your way down and detach fully.

Small phillips head screw attaches plastic holder - need a stub screwdriver to unscrew as it's a tight place.

Recover any metal clips still in the steel frame using a pair of needle-nose pliers, slide into their brackets on the rear of the pillar trim.

Bash back into place with clenched fist.

Sorted.

Suppose I'll have to do this upgrade to mine :P

ah so thats what they are. had one in the octavia and got one on my fabia, didnt have a clue what it was actually for to be honest.

its find this useful too as a car park i often park in will now ticket you for having the ticket anywhere other than the windscreen ..... crazy i know...... i used to place mine on the dashboard on my old car

Thanks for all the help. I'll let you know how I get on. My brilliant diesel Octavia Estate has a ticket holder but missed it on the Fabia (just bought 4 weeks ago to replace a 1994 Favorit). The Favorit has given good service over the last 3 years but had to go eventually.

Regards,

Garth

Also really handy for showing off you RR graphs

Sorry to revive an old thread but does anyone know the part number?

I've tried eGay and no luck

Cheers :)

Can anyone elaborate as to what these metal clips people keep mentioning are before I pull off the trim and can't work out why on earth it won't go back on!?

Mine is plastic? And currently being use to hold the email confirmation printout for the road tax I forgot to buy until 19:40 on 30th June!.... Had no use for it prior to this!

I use carparks a fair amount so will be a nice addition

Part Number:6Y0 867 159

screw:N 104 149 01

from http://www.briskoda....et-holder-clip/

Thanks.

Should this be compatible with my car do you reckon?

Will come in very handy and other half has to pay 50p to park in work car park and I'm finding tickets all over the car and falling down the bottom of the windscreen! lol

Pop the a pillar trim off and see if there is anything suitable to mount to?

Good plan bat man!

If there isn't anything to mount to, I guess you could always bodge it to fit with some araldite or similar :)

Sorry, probably my bad wording! I know the part itself is plastic- what I meant was that in a couple of sets of instructions I've seen for installing them, people have mentioned metal clips that need to be removed and replaced, but I've no idea what they mean!?
