Changed steering buttons from radio- to phone myself

Featured Replies

Hello

As you may be remember, I retrofitted MFS and bluetooth on my vRS. But MFS was in radio version. Today I get a phone buttons 1Z0959537A and run to my garage to install them. The dilers price for this small set of buttons is crazy (about 250 euro), but if you are interesting - ask Stu and he may offer the nice price (I use the same supplier in CZ, but I live in Russia).

I strongly recommen to make this upgrade if you have radio MFS and retrofitted bluetooth, because it is very very more easy to making a calls and jump to phone menu. And there are no additional coding for this, so you don`t need a VAG COM access

New buttons:

First step - airbag detaching. Disconnection of wires ia not necessary

Second step - remov old buttons. Just pull (carefully!) and disconnect the wires from controller inside MFS:

I used the same configuration as you befor yesterday - reprogrammed MUTE button to voice dialing.

New buttons using not only for answer or reject a call - if you press upper left button, you will jump to phone menu directly, without touching right stalk. Again - and you will go depper in menu (in "missed calls" for example). Then choose a number and push it again - the number will be dialing. It is not necessary to use right stalk. For return from phone menu just press left buttom button and you will return to AUDIO or NAVIGATION menu. Very very usefull!

Ask Stu and try it yourself - the price of new buttons from our CZ guy is really not high, even with delivery to England.

FarmerP has those buttons as well Andrey. He says it looks like Starship Enterprise at night when it lights up!!

can anyone help me obtain bluetooth kit and now i'v seen them the steering wheel phone controls as well.

The buttons from CZ were new when u got them?

Or they come from the HIGH number of stolen and dismantled Octavias there?

I'm just curious, no offence.

you can get a bluetooth radio from lidl for 70 squids plays sd cards usb devices cd mp3 and everything else plus your calls come thru the sterio and the head unit has small mic built in

will review it once i have installed it

Now it is possible to install SuperB cruise control buttons instead of radio- or phone. But I use phone more frequenly than cruise control and even don`t think about it
