I'm looking to buy some roof bars for my Fabia VRS to fit a cycle rack to. I've noticed that Skoda do some for £99 but i was wondering if there was a cheaper alternative that any of you have bought/used that you're very pleased with.

Get the skoda ones

The only other bars i would trust to be put on my furby would be the THULE rapid fit bars,

Which for the fabia come in at around 120 squids

I have no experience with Skoda's own branded bars, but can vouch for the Thule bars. I have the rapid fit kit with the Aero bars.

I use them along some Thule bike carriers and have no complaints. Really well made and fit perfectly.

Thanks Ant, i like the look of those and they're slightly cheaper than Skodas. Haven't got the cycle carrier yet, want to buy some roof bars first then the cycle carrier with my Christmas money so that i can get some winter mountain biking done so i'm just weighing things up at the moment. Cheers

As he said, the skoda and thule bars are the same thing anyway.

I got a set of official skoda ones from ebay for £25 inc postage and then got a couple of thule cycle carriers from roofracks.co.uk for £64 posted. Absolute bloody bargain.

I'm sure you'll be able to source a good deal if you keep your eyes open!
