excellent stuff!

Whats its like to drive?

Is it progressive or aggressive?

Well, its how they shouldve been from the factory.

It's not the same map as you had, is it? I thought yours was a postal one?

It'll vary from map to map, you can have it tailored to how you want it from a decent mapper.

Bit of a cross between the two - power delivery is smooth, there's no discernable lag at all and in the medium and higher rev range you can really feel the kick. Even when driving sedately you can tell the power's there just waiting to be used. To be honest it feels like a different car as there is so much more torque.

When you getting it done? Is your car going on the dyno too?

Im getting mine done on the 12th but will only be a generic one so sadly no dyno run even though its a lottery it would be nice to have a rough idea what its kicking out as against a guess

at the price they were on offer for it would be a crime not to do it, plus my front arb bushes need doing as they are making a right noise

About time it was done......................LOL

your telling me mate :D

I had mine done by Will at P Torque Matt and was pleased with the outcome

It was just the generic map which made it smoother but the noticeable difference with mine was the power delivery in fourth and fifth

which gives it a real kick when you boot it

Looking back i think i would have gone for a custom map instead so i could choose to have more torque in second and third gears too but i suppose its down to preferences

All in all though im very happy with the generic map Will did for me and he does know his stuff so i will go back to him when i get my next skoda

You dont have extra power in these gears?

You dont have extra power in these gears?

I got the generic one and I can feel the difference in every gear...

how much was it for the remap

at the minute they are £225

Thats why I was questioning it, the car should feel like night and day in all gears and revs.

How much!

As Andy says it should feel like night and day.

A little over standard after the remap yes but not a great difference until i get to third this is where it does start to pick up and like i said its most noticeable in fourth and fifth

These gearboxes dont seem to want to go too fast till you get to third anyway this is why i didnt question it but you think i should be seeing as much difference right through all the gears then ?

the engine is mapped and the gear you are in makes no difference, its all in your head :)

Il second that

Only makes a difference in 4th and 5th eh,try telling that to s.w.m.b.o. she keeps telling me i'm going to snap her neck when i give it some beans in second gear.lol

Completely, as soon as I drove the car away after the remap at slow speeds it felt different, and opening it up for the first time in second was pretty sweet, lots more power on tap.

Although a gain of 25hp doesent sound much of an increase,if you look at the attached graph, that is maximum power, if you look at 2500rpm to 4500 rpm it is up 40-50 horsepower from standard.

Another good way to notice the difference in low gears is the increased wheel spin :D

Oh and more nagging from swmbo to stop jerking the car.

Me too, I've had to dramatically change the way I drive the car to prevent the traction light coming on.

wheel spin?

whats that then?
