My car is faster since the trackday

Featured Replies

Mine is definitely accelerating better.

Car has already done 36k but obviously needed a damn good thrashing.

ps I'm not mad or suffering from delusions

Anyone else notice the same?

Rob

Nah, mines still bleedin' slow :(

;)

Mine's just as fast, just with a bit more grumbling at low revs.... damn it! :(

Mine was definitely faster hooning along the country roads from Brunters to the motorway :) (EDIT: And I didn't even take it on the track!)

M6/M5 back home wasn't fun, though. Set my CC to around 70 (OK; it was 85 on the speedo), but kept getting overtaken by little cars (think Fiesta, Metro) shedding clouds of rust and bits of body panel. Is this a Birmingham speciality? Never noticed it before....

Not noticed that before, but its obviously a good thing to get the speed rush out of your system on a track, as I stuck the cruise on 75 as well.

Maybe we should join the anti-speed lobbyists with a ' free trackdays for safe drivers' tag line ?

Mine feels better as well. Only thing I have noticed is that if I have to put it in reverse from cold start it makes that grinding clutch plate grabbing noise , which I'm sure it didn't do before.

Mine feels better as well. .

Q , do you mean you have actually got out of third gear ? :D

Nah' date=' mines still bleedin' slow :(

Compared to what ?

Most things :(

:D

Stop it - you'll have me in tears soon..

If I keep going, do I get a hug? ;)

:D

Most things :(

:D

:holmes: smoke, shredded tyre, funny smell, elementary my dear Watson! :D

 I'd offer you a drive of my RS but as it's so much more powerful than your SDI you'd only get upset at having to give it back !

You're right there Jane, I wouldn't want to give it back :( I do miss mine on track, but for most of my driving, this one is better :)

Wanna swap ?

Ive noticed the same, on a serious note does the Octy have this self learning electronics similar to Beemers & Scoobs where it remembers how youve driven over the past so many miles & adjusts the settings to suit ??

I think it does. Can be accelerated by resetting the ECU prior to a track adventure :D

Hmm, so in order to keep it this way I'll have to drive like a nutcase around roundabouts and motorways... hang on... I already do that! :D

Q I agree, I thgought mine had a fairly hard life on the road. Must remind myself to "try harder"

Jon, so how do you reset the ECU, on the Scoob it was disconect the battery for 1/2 hour

You flick that magic switch that Elculo discovered ;)
