OEM Bluetooth voice commands

Featured Replies

I know there are many on this site that retrofitted the OEM bluetooth kit, I am trying to use the voice command system but seem to be having some trouble.

It doesn't seem to like my accent, every time I try to enter a number into the phonebook it all goes fine I can get the name entered then the phone number but when it comes to "store" she keeps adding *4 to the phone number.

Has anyone else tried out their kit with voice commands, and if you have no problems what accent have you got, if I need to be Irish to use my phone then so be it :D

I think farmerp has it working well.

I don't have it as I don't have the MFSW - so I'm not really much help to you.

perhaps a Czech accent would be better? or a German one?

(sorry - couldnt resist!)

hope you get it sorted....

i had a real problem with store too. doesnt like north wales accents either. it just worked in the end but i didnt try to sound like a czech. will give it a go!

I have the same problem and it's really rather annoying! ......

"star 4", no you silly b!tch, I said STORE

perhaps you could try saying 'ez-door' and see if that works? or variations?

(it is fun to swear at her isnt it?)

Yo Guys,

I had the same problem. The knack is to say "Store name" or "Save name". Works every time then.

Hope this helps,

Farmer

Just got my Welsh friend to try it out , "Store name" works for him as well.

It's not the name bit I have trouble with, it's when your saying the number and after you've given the eleven digits and want to 'store', the silly cow shouts 'STAR 4' back at you!

By the way, if you want her to sound suitably unimpressed with you, try burping after the beep. You'll be rewarded with a suitably stern "PARDON ?"

Sorry, but it was really funny to me when I discovered this by total accident Perhaps you had to be there for this one.

By the way, one useful feature on the MF Steering wheel is if you get fed up with her not understanding you, the hang up button on the wheel acts as an immediate cancel. Useful if she really has one of those stroppy moments.

Hi Ants,

Sorry, perhaps I didn't make that very clear, if you say "store name" after she speaks the number back to you, then it will work. So you need to say it to begin the process, and again to end it.

Farmer

I'll try it now

OK mate,

let us know how you get on.

Result  tried 'save name' rather than 'store' and it worked first time

Kewl.

That one caught me out the first few times. Was driving me nuts. Glad thats sorted for you Ants.

Farmer

ive got the oem bluetooth, how do i get this to work?

have you got a multi function steering wheel? if not then you cant get it going

oh thats why then :(

Might be worth a word with VrsStu. He might be able to give you some pointers re: steering wheel. I reckon it was one of the best add-on's I've had done. The feel of the steering wheel alone over the original plastic one is sooo much better.

but ive already a leather steering wheel.

Farmer

Thank you!

I would say that you, sir, are a genius but I think it is more the case of me being an idiot.

Now all I need to know is whether changing the MFSW to the phone buttons is a good idea.
