should i buy it?

Featured Replies

been looking for a vrs for ages now. sold my subaru and been on my moped ever since. But today i found a vrs... red, 62k, sunroof, park sensors, cruise control, wooden dash trim?, heated seats, plus all the other stuff, mint, 2 mature sensible owners(until i get my hands on it). full skoda history. from skoda dealer with cam belt done, full service, mot, 12 mths warrenty £6995 first reg.jan 04... what you all think? any problems to look out for?

Wooden dash??? never heard of that before.

This might seem silly but does the car feel right? I had been looking at cars for ages when I saw mine, I fell in love with it and signed on the dotted line straight away.

Price seems reasonable and the cambelts been done so that's one less thing to worry about. I believe the wooden dash is achieved with "stick-on" wood so may be able to be undone, but I could be wrong.

Main things to look out for are damp carpets which may indicate the door carriers need repairing, clutch doesn't slip and that there are no funny knocks or bangs under acceleration which could indicate bushes need replacing.

was really impressed...

Sounds like a reasonable buy.

As Chris says the wooden dash is probably stick on stuff.

lol... that often happens... people drive them, then just have to sign on the dotted line ;)

enjoy your vRS

thanks, just couldnt stop myself.....not sure on the wood dash thing will have to look into that when i collect it..

that would probably be the first thing I would do ... remove the wood ;)

Yeah get rid of the wood dash , it will be like a big sticker , a hairdrier will help soften the glue then you should be able to peel it all off carefully. Enjoy your new car!!

enjoy,they are fun:D

WOOD DASH TRIM SKODA FABIA 1999-up RHD on eBay, also Centre Consoles Dashboards, Interior Styling, Car Tuning Styling, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 16-Dec-07 10:08:14 GMT)

thats the stuff, anybody want to make me an offer for it? :) its a fabia, and yes its got parking sensors, think they might be halfords or similar, 2 sensors by number plate rather than in bumper.

It will be unusable once you pull it off as you will stretch it and it will loose its shape. The wood looks well naff! I got the silver version of this and it looks spot on!

Enjoy your car!

must be slightly different stuff, its top quality plastic wood! lol

can you get parking sensors for the fabia?

Yes, you can. Have a look on Stu's site Fabia-vrs.com - Home Page

tbh i think £7,000 for an 04 with 62K is O.T.T

Me and my friend recently purchased VRS's

he got an 04 with 42K for £6,700 and i got an 04 with 37K for £7,300

But did yours have a wooden dash :)

/\? why on god's earth wood i want a 'wooden' #cough#plastic#cough# dash?

if you think about all the extras, and the fact they are doing a cam belt change full service and mot in that price with a 12 month warrenty, i dont think its too bad..

oh and i forgot the wooden plastic dash, priceless.........

I think its reasonable considering its from a dealer. :)

i paid £7k for an 05 plate with 54k.

hmm yeah suppose, mines was from a dealers at 7.3k,

came with c/c, heated seats

years skoda warranty

years MOT

2 new front tires

suppose its quite good there doing the cambelt
