Featured Replies

hi guys i have a 51 plate octy vrs which i have had for 2 years.got 77000 on clock but has full skoda service history.just posting to see if any of you have had as many problems as me.so here goes. had both front coil springs snap. had both rear wheel bearings fail. water pouring into driver side footwell when it rains. rear washer broke. 2 coil pack failures.air con packed up.brake lights staying on. i dont want to sound a whinger but is this common or am i unlucky:confused: .cheers guys Lee

Sounds as if you've been a bit unlucky - but then again the car is 6 yrs old and has done 70k+ and the previous owner (?) may not have been 'gentle'.

I used to find (was Private-Hire driver so accumulated lots of miles) that my cars would save it all up and then hit me good-style. I'd get it all sorted, everything would be hunky-dory for a while and then the routine would begin all over again :thumbdwn:

Sounds like you got one constructed partly over the weekend... when they forgot on Monday morning where they left it on Friday afternoon.

only problem ive had so far is with perished hoses in the engine bay. guess they use cheap rubber. seems like its biodegradable!!

my aircon makes some dodgy noises and im suspicious that it is dying, but its only aircon!

other than that no probs so far ('02 vRS)

brake lights staying on is common - it will be the brake light switch as is only £8 from main dealers

I don't think thats an unreasonable amount of issues for a 6 year old car tbh...

Broken window regulators, door locks playing up and running/engine light problems due to perished breather hoses.

Mines a 2001 Octy Vrs (42k miles) Not a single problem with it!
