Some pr"ck sh&gged my rear end!

Featured Replies

Well wanted to get this off my chest.

This morning some **** decided to drive right up the rear end of my Fabia VRS while I was stationary at traffic lights.

I have a sore back neck and back and a dented Furby. I wonder what damage is underneath that I can't see. The bumper is whacked and the boot doesn't feel right when its shut.

Now Ive been given a Astra 1.8SRI by my insurance company til I get mine back.

I aint happy!!!

Sympathy please.........................!

oh dear, sorry to hear about it,if its any consolation my mate reversed his 44tonne truck into mine in the yard this afternoon,5000 miles on the clock and crashed,i am well gutted:(

i know how you feel

Been to hospital yet, If not get yer erse down there, i realise the prospect of 4 hours in A&E on a friday night is not the most appealing. But better to get checked out, If your in pain now it'll be worse in the morning. it'll help towards a PI claim.

What humped you and what gender was the driver?

A male in an old rover. He made a joke about skoda so I put him right there and then the idiot!

Gutted for you mate

Had a similar thing in my Type R! The guy said I didnt see you! All I could reply with was "isnt it red enough for you??" he just mumbled I wasnt paying attention!

Hope you get it sorted out and back soon :)

Get your neck and back looked at, dont want it to give you grief over Christmas!

i know how you feel ive been there, but get to the doctors or hospital tomorrow and complain about that neck, certainly worth a few grand ;)

not dead,in fact it fared better than i thaught, tho it was only a brush against, new f/o/s wing and mirror assembly will see it right, still gutted tho

 whats going on? There are loads of people being rear ended just lately :(

I hope your car(s) aren't to bad and get sorted soon :)

Know what you mean, ought to start a Briskoda Rear end club, maybe its a sign that driving standards are on the way down, or its just a silly season this time of year :thumbdwn:

I seriously dread the insurance renewal

Just about everyday on here a Skoda Fabia gets damaged (mine included so I am not slinging sh*7*) again it is 90% third parties Not our Faults

I just hope the insurers accept that and price accordingly

I hope you both are OK and get the Furby sorted soon

Regards National

Commiserations - hope it gets sorted quickly :grouphug:

It's the type of year I think - lack of light and generally poor driving conditions :(

Steve

mine was done in our yard and i was in a different county at the time,do you think that will afect my personal injury claim:rofl:car goes into the bodyshop on monday, and will come out better than new,i have instructed them to do a little more than just fix it,so every cloud having a silver lining and all that, worst bit is it was one of my good friends that hit it,and he knows what my little furby means to me,he seems more gutted than me,and this one won't be a statistic as he's paying cash,my mate owns the bodyshop and fixing the car with a new wing and new mirror comes to £440,so i think that is quite reasonable.

C H A V Astra on my drive

If it's any consolation i was partly responsible for an Astra's demise about six week ago:rolleyes:

Don't moan about the Astra...!! I did after a prang and got given a Corsa instead...:rofl::(

Not moaning really its just its petrol and like a lump of lead and it not my VRS! boo who !

Sorry to hear that. It's seems to be happening to a lot of people at the moment....

I'll join

Had a similar thing myself a few years ago. Was in stop start traffic in the fog in my Pug 405. Guy in front stopped and so did I. Looked up in my rear view mirror to see the guy behind me wasn't stopping......he ploughed into my a55 end at about 20 mph - hitting me with enough force to open the sunnroof and completely concertina the boot so the boot floor folded up and stuck up through the boot lid. As I saw him coming towards me in the rear view I braced myself and pressed my head against my head rest and as such suffered no injury.

Same couldn't be said for his Escort van though......I had a tow bar on my car and as he hit me, the tow bar when through his bumper and radiator and bounced off his engine sending him backwards again, thus hooking onto his bumper and radiator and tearing them off. :D

He admitted fault straight away (couldn't have been mine.....I'd already stopped) and the car went straight into the shop to be looked at (Minster Coachworks in York). It was decided after a couple of days that the car would be repaired rather than written off.

They had to jig it, replace loads of bits at the back and respray the rear end. Took them about 2 weeks in all whilst I drove round in a heap of turd Hyundai.

Anyway, I know what you're going through mate (apart from the neck thing) and it's not nice. Hope it all gets sorted out for you soon and the damage is not too severe.
