I've just finished watching the end of Pearl Harbour. That scene at the end' date=' where our US heros go off to spank the Japs, did that actually happen (bombers taking off from carriers etc) or was it yet another Hollywood history re-write? Me and the missus were pretty merciless about it, so many clichéd lines, very very [b']very[/b] bad movie.

Though the explosions were good

Dave.

Yep it did happen - they took off from a carrier called the Hornet bombed Tokyo and then flew on to China. The Japanese caught some of them and executed them. On the World At War series there is footage of them taking off the carrier - they come of the end of the carrier and drop down almost into the sea the crawl away, must have been bl**dy scary.

Fav films:

Where Eagles Dare (first film taped as a kid)

The Matrix (but not the follow ons)

The Bourne Identity - the best mini chase since The Italian Job

Battle of Britain

Die Hard - or any film with Alan Rickman as a baddy

Felt like I had watched a proper film with these and not come away short changed.Noticed people sneaking in extra films above the five limit so any old politically incorrect bond films(Mishter Connery again) :naughty:

I must be the only person in the world who found LOTR boring. In fact I found it so boring I couldn't even bare to sit through all 16 hours or however long it was!

Yup I was bored of the rings in return of the king the ending was way too long I thought the looks that pippin and merry (are those their names?) gave each other I thought they were gonna start getting it on

But my fave films are: (no specific order)

1. Rocky IV

2. Scarface

3. Transformers the movie

4. Alien

5. Akira

6. Ghostbusters

7. Blues Brothers

8. Scent of a Woman

9. Top Gun (it's cheesy but good)

10. Grease
