How do I get rid of mooing when I reverse.It is annoying and hints please :confused:

A new set of rear pads is the latest working fix applied by the dealers.

Is the car under warranty still? If so, take it back to the dealer and they'll replace the rear pads under warranty. I'm not sure what the costs will be be if it isn't.

Do a search for "mooing" on here, it's come up a few times now.

Had pads done not that long ago by myself :confused:

Mine does it now and then- mainly when it's wet... it's really loud!!!

It's a pad hysteresis issue. As already said, this is best cured by a change of friction material.

gotta agree. had terrible mooing problems, then had some lovely EBC red stuff pads fitted all round

not a moo in sight or sound now

Most brake squeal issues are caused by one of 3 things, most likely in the general case first:-

1) Brake backplates need a touch of Copaslip.

2) Missing or damaged anti-squeal shim.

3) Pad hysteresis issue.

The reason I said (3) first in this case is experience of rear brake squeal on the Octy vRS.
