Citroen ZX vs Nurburgring

Interesting video, especially around 1 min 10!

Lucky lucky bloke

Chris

 Dear Lord. Think he'll have be on e bay when he got home to buy some new seats, or some good cleaning products... French car for you. :P

It did seem to slide very quickly on a corner that didn't seem that sharp. Wonder what caused it

That corner is very deceptive, and goes round left hand bend just as the gradiant changes from steep downhill, to very steep uphill. Get the speed wrong, and the transfer of weight to the right front wheel will send the car spinning. The foxhole as its called is one of the major places for crashes.

major major lift off oversteer

Hmm I just think either **** tyres and going in too quick/not expecting the corner to do what it did.

He did very well not to bend it though.... Just shows how well the ZX/306/Xsara handle ;)

Nothing wrong with french cars, that lot handle exceptionally well

Yep, very deceptive corner that one  That shook him up a bit!

Agree with the probably crap tyres.

I'd guess he lifted the throttle just as he twitched the steering...but by god he was lucky.

I really want to try the Ring, but that's exactly the sort of thing I'd be afraid of doing!

Me too. I'd love to go round it. Driver in the video seemed to say the road was damp, that wouldn't help either. Defo want some good tyres on for there.

I've heard from a few peeps that the place is treacherous when damp. Look for the video of the BMW spinning off after 8 seconds or something :D

******** to that- just get on wi it!

spank it=£2000 fine...

its only money:rofl:

last time I was over there was in my 320touring with all the gear for a 2 week 6500mile camping holiday- and was on the ring on day two

if i'd spanked it, twould have been holiday over.

alas, I still kicked its **** round the ring then drove to berlin.

luvverly.

I would comment on the zx vid, but youtube etc are blocked at work:mad:

£2000 fine?

£2000 fine?

£2000 bill for armco seems to be the norm for brits that spank the walls..

is what I was meaning:D

2 grand to fix their wall or your car? ;)

2 grand to fix their wall or your car? ;)

wall:rofl:

Never owned a car worth more than £500 in me puff:D

Saw this a while back... he was incredibly lucky there!!! Well saved!

I used to have a ZX and they're ok... but they do feel pretty light on the back end some times going round bends at a bit of speed... i nearly spun mine once going round a similar bend!

If you listen to the woman she says: "Don't touch the armco barrier... Don't touch the armco barrier!!".

So she was obviously aware of the fine!!! hehe

  PMSL , very deceptive corner , that needs full commitment, and the correct line , to go round it quickly

whats that smell ?

looked like he lifted slightly, got a bit spooked on the way in,wicked little curve that, well held tho:rofl:

my one drives like a boat :P

As said, the gradient changes dramatically on that corner, the way it changes is almost blinding, especially when your gunning down that straight :D

my one drives like a boat :P

Suggest you get your suspension sorted then. My 306 could take A road r/bouts at 60 to 70 without losing traction and still going where i pointed it.
