Finally got my hands on some front fogs off Ebay does anyone know if I will need anything else to put them in apart from a new lighting switch (anyone got the part no?) and the plugs to connect the fog lights.

Also does anyone know where I can get the plugs for the fog lights? i was just going to use spade connectors but they are pretty well hidden.

I have already made up wiring so that should be alright

Reason i have bought the fogs is because the other week i couldn't see nothing on a road Yorkshire way I haven't bought them to be used when they aren't required ala behind your cars!

I would perhaps retrofit a foglight switch into one of the blank dash switches above the radio - does yours have an ASR switch as stock? What about using a heated seat switch from another car. Use an inline fuse, and take power from somewhere (such as the conveniently close radio) - and bob's your mother's brother.

Not heard of anyone retrofitting fogs so should be interesting. I wouldn't bother sourcing foglight plugs - Use custom wiring with proper shrouded soldered joins.

Speak to cars dismantled by skospares.com for all your skospares as they might be breaking a car that you can get all the wiring and the switch from

Thats surprising they usually look at me in contempt when I mention adding features that aren't originally specified

Ah didnt think they would of done a kit like that.

Well now I got the fogs and the wiring so all that remains is the switch and the two plugs really and looking at the fog lights a couple of screws.

Ill have to give skoda a ring and see how much they charge for that lot I know one fogs about £35/30 ish so I bet that kit comes in at over 100

Had a look at the car today cant see anywhere to get a wire through the bulkhead must be hidden well

Does anyone know what screw size I need to fit them (2 screws per fog light)

They're good about twice a year, in really really thick fog.

Not wishing to say something which is said about ten times an hour on these forums anyway, they're more of a nuisance than anything just because people have them on. All the time.

One thing that surprises me with this forum its an excellent forum but if you mention fog lights you usually get shot down on pressing the post button

I have said above why i want to fit them and its definetly not to be another idiot that cant work a switch or thinks their car looks "cooler" due to another couple of lights on blinding everyone else.

Depends how much you drive and at what times of day really.

I work in a 24/7 office and travel approx 25 miles each way to work. I only use mine two or three times a year but am glad i've got them...... Believe me when your resorting to driving along a motorway at no more than 30mph due to a real pea souper your glad to use the fogs instead of the xenons!!!!

As for the dipsticks who have them on all the time..... The on'es who wind me up the most are the VAG owners as you physically have to turn them on each time you turn the lights on.... As we all know ourselves.
