You will need to specify the model and engine too for this thread to make any sense.

1.8T AUQ = £346.63 @ Awesome GTI (Including Metal Waterpump IIRC)

1.8T 4x4 ARX = 265.95 (inc tensioner) not including water pump....Skoda Autosales Cannock

IIRC that's for any VAG transverse engined car (£295 + VAT). and yes, it does include a metal impeller water pump. Check out their website, there's a link from the Awesome section on here.

On my 03 Octavia VRS I paid £275 all in yesterday for cambelt change (incl tensioner, aux belt too, new water pump and labour) at Colehill Garage, Wimborne, Dorset..... Using genuine skoda parts. Skoda at Corfe Mullen, Dorset qouted me £265 just for cambelt change!

Thats typical of Westover Skoda they are rip off merchants!!!!!!

1999 Octavia 1.9SLX TDi £158.63 for cam belt kit and 'roughly' £150 labour from FH Winter on the IW.

When I asked about the water pump I was told 'We've never had a problem with them, don't even keep one in stock'. Their labour charge is £55/hr. I'll get Andrew at Warren Motors in Lake to do it, £15/hr and can't be faulted.

GSF Car Parts don't do a cam belt kit for an AHF engine - which mine is. I haven't searched the site for info on the different engine models, what is the difference?

Is there any other supplier that has been used by anyone else?

Cheers.

Denis

252 at Impossible performance for the job lot including a new water pump and metal impeller.

Marlow VW quoted me £450 for cambelt, water pump (wasn't sure if metal or plastic impeller), and tensioner on a 1.8T VRS (AUQ)

Mine came to £327 for cambelt, tensioners, water pump all genuine skoda parts on a 1.8 slxi turbo engine.

Called them back as the quote did not include the water pump; they want to charge £75 for adding it. :mad::finger:

For a complete toothed belt change (inc. water pump) and the 4y/40.000 miles service, they wanted a total of £715.

Told them to stick it, that another dealer could do this for a cheaper, more realistic price, so they put me on hold for 2 minutes and told me £650 all inc.

Robinsons Skoda (Norwich), £326.50 all in for cambelt, pulley/tensioner and waterpump for the 1.8T AUQ vRS

Because when it does break & it will for the sake of £30 for a water pump you may as well change or youll be paying that £250 again when it goes.
