It was ok actually, i was suprised.

I was going straight over a roadabout and he was turning left onto the same duel carridge way. He wanted to get straight into the overtaking lane but had to weight as he couldnt acelerate fast enough due to the speed i was already doing. I then got to 'X' MPH and stayed at that speed, then noticed him bombing up behind me so i put my foot down.

For a while he wasnt gaining on me but then slowley but surely he got closer and closer as my car was getting close to top speed, he was then right up my chuff so i let him past, shamefully admitting defeat!

Not bad for the little furby! still lost tho!

my girl friends dad had a st220 er underestimated car pls its got loads of kit on it. Really made me think twice about fords which i normally hate

the most powerful 1.9cdti astra sporthatch only has 147bhp which i thought all fabia vRS's had as standard seeing as Skoda under rate them all :confused:

that coupled with the fact that the astra is actually heavier than the fabia means you *should* beat him easily, so the fabia is lighter and as we all know has 190bhp when remapped so quite why you can't beat him i don't know?

some fabia vrs's have more,and some are utter lemons,my mums vrs is a real dog

If you where reaching the stage where your vRS was running out of puff, in which I think I know roundabouts the figure your talking about and only then did he manage to cruise by - I don't think thats too shabby on your behalf at all. Infact pretty impressive. You've got to remember the ST220 has a rather high claimed top speed of something rather close to 150MPH I think - a Furby would never do that.

Yes they are fast but they are also very heavy!

Maybe said Astra had been remapped ?

yeqah the st220 is a 3.0v6 with about 220bhp i think and the older st24 and st200 had 2.5 v6's and had 174bhp and 200bhp respectivly. thats off the top of my head so i might be slightly out

2 seconds faster? Not remapped is it? i thought it was as low as 7secs? Could be wrong mind.

I think i may have had the edge pulling away up to about 80. Not gunna try and make out im faster than i st220 tho! Im guessing they are 220bhp?

Tried it on with an R32 the other day, from the stoplights. He did get away from me, but I stayed a few carlengths behind until we had to slow down again.

Think he expected his car to absolutely blow mine away, no argument - bet he was cursing how much he paid for his out here - I mean it's only a tad faster than a skoda fabia.......

It is only a furby - but it does regularly shock other drivers just what a diesel can do (I think there must be only about 10 or 20 diesel cars out here in a country of a million people). Diesels are for tractors, buses and lorries out her only pretty much....

That's what I was wondering about mate tbh - was a little dissapointed....Even emailed Jase about it for his professorial opinion.

He said it's the 4WD that helps them and the 30+ rolling start that helps us dervs. Was from a dead stop, and me being right behind him, had to be careful I didn't run into his rear.... Once I let him get a bit in front, went for it 100%...

Did a fairly good job of minimising wheel spin while maximising acceleration. Changed at 4K rpm, perhaps a bit sooner may have helped..

Loved the smoke trail in the rear mirror tho', lol!
