Better than mine, ive not even got an engine cover on mine, not taken a picture of it! :)

Good Christ, do you ever even s-tart it? Is it in some sort of hermetically sealed time-warp?

The very shiny bit pops out so every now and again it gets a good coat of plastic polish.

The rest I just wipe over with a damp cloth unless there are particularly stubborn bits of dirt and out comes the white spirit :D

Heres my old beast!

All 55BHP of her!:D

I don't understand clean engines. Fine on a show car where every point from the judge counts, but on a day-to-day car

Having said that, there are some good (clean ;)) examples up there, and I'm sure there are worst ways to spend your free time.

I keep mine clean as part of the course of cleaning the car. I can't see the point in having a clean exterior and interior to then open the bonnet to big black splodges.

I used to pressure wash mines when i was pressure washing the car, did it no harm :)

Clean engines are so much nicer to work on.

This part of mine's a bit tarty but not so clean:

Not tarty but in pretty good order for a 70k mileage!

Every few months I give mine a good spray of Autoglym machine cleaner, leave it a while and then hose off.

clean engine bays are fantastic and auto glym machine cleaner is amazing at getting it nice and clean

as under the bonnet of the fabia is all plastic i thought i would put one up of my old car
