Retro Fit Reversing Sensors

Featured Replies

Hi Guys, went to view a Vrs Tdi Estate today and have left a deposit,to collect in a couple of weeks :)

However,I would like to fit reversing sensors so:-

a) Can they be retro fitted and linked into the head unit display (as per factory fit) ?

B) Would a tow bar adversely affect their operation?

c) How much to install roughly?

Answers on a postcard to the usual address !!!!

ps, Thanks to all for your tips re checking prior to buying

Hi

They can be retro fitted as a Skoda accesory the price comes in at around £230 is but I am pretty sure the retro fit's don't give the dash display via the stream.

The Towbar should not effect their operation, I know with the factory fit option you can change them in vag com to set it up for with / without a towbar

I had them retro fitted to my Passat that I bought from VW. Probably the same kit.

It just has the audible beeps but no display but it's very good without the lights.

I think I got a deal as I haggled as part of the deal for the car, they should have been £275 but I paid £180 and got them to colour code them included in that price. Not sure on the tow bar issue but the dealer should have plenty of info on that.

You could always buy a kit and have it fitted later by an autoelectriain with the visual display type.

I'd see if you can get it into the deal before you sign the paperwork.

It can be done as above but you won't see it on the Stream display.

Mine were retro-fitted before I picked the car up.

It beeps but didn't show on the Stream which is irrelevant as that has been replaced by a MFD2.

I fitted aftermarket sensor kit from Fleabay, cost was £29-00 + same again to colour code, can be bought prefinished in silver and balck. Mine came with a wireless 'head' unit which is stuck on top of the dash. They work well allthough you still get the no distance beeps with 300mm left as per the factory fit items. A simple DIY job, there are plenty posts about it, do a search on brisky.

Yeah fitted mine myself, got a genuine kit off E-bay, :D

not too hard if you are fairly usefull with a spanner.;)

One of the best things I've done TBH, Swmbo loves it:rofl::rofl:

As said try to get in done in the price if you can.

It is possible to find factory set of parts and installed it like on a factory - with graphics on Stream or Audience. I did it for front system, you can find my mod story with pics here.

Stu can help you with parts ))
