How good is your climatronic ac?

Featured Replies

Just wanting to know general opinions etc - when the car has been baking in the sun, it seems to take quite a while for the old climatronic to being the temperature down.

Car is 04 plate Elegance 1.8t.

Cheers

My normal A/C does take a while to fully cool the car but I try to leave it off for a bit with the windows open to release some of the heat

Very good.

I tend to open all the windows and roof and drive for a minute or so before closing them , but it doesn't take long for the climate to get thing down to civilised levels.

Mine is very effective to the extent that, if the temperature is selected to LO even on very hot days, the car gets uncomfortably cold. Do as Dr zoidberg does (and the Handbook recommends), namely briefly open the windows or doors (and/or sunroof) to let the hot air out when the car has been parked in the sun.

Hmmm :rolleyes::D

In genaral European cars do not have as effective Air-Con systems as US cars, where they need it with their 120F days.....

Aircon on low & recirculate wityh fan turned up + windows open initially should do the trick

The climatronic does the recirc thing automatically, I just noticed that it didn't seem to be puffing out really cold for a while, which I was surprised about having been out in an Audi A4 - which gets cool even in the back very quickly indeed.

Last year I noticed in my Smart that the ac worked better on hotter days ?!?

My car is just over 3 years old now and air con still makes the car nice and chilly within a couple of minutes following Alex's ;) and the handbook's open the windows technique. Saying that, the last car I had with air con was a Nissan Micra (going back a few years!) and that was pretty feable compared to the Fabia's!

I think Dr Zoidberg is an Alex as well :)

I hate that climatronic thing! Especially when u cant see the display!

Does anyone else feel this way? I much prefer manual air-con!

I'm a control freak!!!

I had manual AirCon in the Astra. Practically impossible to maintain a comfortable temperature, the car was either too warm or too cold.

Climatronic works like a dream for me ;)

Climatronic works fine for me. It's a lot better that the climate control in my previous car (Citroen Xantia).

As others have said, if it's really hot just open the windows/sunroof for a while after starting off.
