I got hit... (pics inside)

Featured Replies

Hi...

Was in a car accident yesterday.

A guy ran a red light and hit me side on.

Side airbag deployed - not a scratch on me.

I estimate he hit me at around 50 km/h - but don`t know for sure.

He wasn`t hurt either, but his car was defo a total.

Hope mine is totalled too - don`t want that back.

Ouch. My sympathy.

I wouldn't want it back either, but it looks like it did it's job and protected you.

Yep, I`m surprised at how well it did.

looks nasty , depending whether the b-pillar is bent back , that is probably a right off

I think it is - the B-pillar has taken qiute a hit.

Both the doors can`t open.

I started the engine to move the car away from the lights, and either there wasn`t any servo, or something in the front is bend.

Glad you are OK ......it does look too bent to be repaired and an airbag went off ...in the UK that would be written off for sure

Looks like the car has stood up well there. Shame it's got damaged so early in its life, but at least you're unscathed! :D

Chris

sory to hear that mate so glad you are ok that is the most important thing i should think that will be written off mate

Glad you are ok. Best of luck with the outcome.

It's Good to see that your Ok.

I hope it all gets sorted with the insurance promt.

Thanks for all the nice comments guys.

I have just been to have a look at it.

As you can see in the pictures, the front end hasn`t been dented, but when i looked at the panel gap between the bonnet and the headlights, then on one side it was touching, the other there where a 2-3cm gap.

When you look at the roof over the drivers door (your passenger side ;) ) you can see that the metal isn`t as it should be - it`s a little creased or what ever it`s called.

I have been given a Citroen C4 Grand Piccasso HDI as a courtesy car for now.

Glad you're ok, was in same kind of bang in 2000, my sierra saphire was much worse off than that, floor pushed in and roof was pulled down by impact to pillar, my drivers seat was about 3 inches to left too. Shows how tough these little cars are...

Better luck with your next car:thumbup:

Remove the bonnet lifter kit and fit it to the replacement. ;)

Sorry to hear about the accident though. I assume the other guy admitted liability?

Main thing is you are OK and although it probably isn’t the most helpful thing you have heard, a car can always be replaced (well almost any car) and you can’t. Pleased you seem fine:).

Feel for you mate, Glad your OK.

Hope its an easy road getting it sorted.

Devastating...

Glad you are ok though mate...

Lets hope its a story with a happy ending! :)

What a mess! Glad you're okay. They certainly are strong little cars!

Thanks for the nice comments once again. :P

I`m OK with all this, as long as they total the car.

Problem is that here in DK, a example as mine will cost around 15K-16K pounds.

So it has to have massive damage before it is totalled.

Jason ->

Yeah, will do that. But if it is totalled, i will probably buy the new Fabia Estate. ;)

good to hear you're okay.

he must have hit you hard - he knocked all the photos sideways ;)

Glad your all right mate the car seems to stood up quite well.

Davy

OUCH :(

a car can be replaced human life can't

Youre OK , bet your family are pleased that you werent injured.

The little furby can certain ly take a bash and keep people safe.

hope you gave the guy who ran the red light some abuse lol

Glad you are ok - mine was written off as there was a crease in the roof line amongst other places.

I was quoted a rather insane amount of money to put it right, so it was a non-starter. But it is possible.

Hope things get sorted swiftly for you, my insurance took forever to sort things out and it was pure luck I managed to get things sorted..
