Featured Replies

Hi... thought i'd post a couple of pics of my Fun. I used to have a Felicia Hatch, spent just over a year away, when i had a Seicento, but am now back in Skodaville...

I am going to order some new plates now - really would like pressed metal ones, but cant find a definite answer as to whether they are legal or not? Also, i will hopefully lower it some time this year. Its really tidy overall, some stone chips at the front, and some marks on the rear bumper, but i'll deal with those when the weather gets a bit better...

that looks really mint!!!! keep up the good work:D

1.8T conversion? :D

Nice example. What are the wheels? and where'd you get em from?

it looks very tidy (better than mine ) so keep it kocked up before i come and swop my plates over

They are team Dynamics ones, got the off of ebay for my old Felicia, and sold them to my dad when i got rid of it. They just suit the Fun tho!

Cheers

I'll make sure i have some people to watch it when i fit new plates!

Bring it here, my neighbours will show their appreciation by throwing eggs at it :rofl: Actually probably worse as it's nicer than mine.

Great looking pickup anyway, love the alloys.

I think pressed metal plates are illegal unfortunately. The plate needs to say BS AU 145d which means it has certain reflecting properties that a pressed metal one won't have.

Here's the rules http://www.dvla.gov.uk/media/pdf/leaflets/displayofnumberplates.pdf Although some people on here have CZ plates and been stopped by the police with them not making any issues about the plates.

Very nice! Always liked the Felicia Fun, and I think the back seat are ingenious!

I'd love one with a hard top on the back.

And as for pressed plates, yes there illegal under BS AU 145d, as they don't conform to the reflective standards as above. But aslong as they are in the right font, and spaced correctly not alot of police officers are going to bother you. Might be a different story come MOT time though. And your insurance company may, I say may not pay out if the worst happened.

Yeah, i've got a hardtop for it - prefer to keep it off tho, as it weighs quite a bit (theres a noticable change in performance), and the space in the back is enough for my basses and amp etc...

Cheers for the info on the plates... think i saw some somewhere that were pressed and had reflective material on, guess i'll have to do some checking.

arr, welcome back sir

Now thats a sweet ride. Looking very very good!

welcome back to the *bright* side!

pressed plates, in fact any plates except 100% standard are not legal. insurance companies wont be able to withhold a payout though, dont fear that front. but fear constant £30 FPNs!

Very nice indeed, good to see a positive thread on here among the doom and gloom of all the mechanical troubles around here....very nice alloys too

get some pressed plates with CZ at the front, no one will look twice.

Normal number plates but with CZ instead of gb?

get some of the pressed steel ones, (like all the VW boys have) but with CZ instead of D

  • 2 weeks later...

Pinkskud: Interesting idea... I could give GB-plates, couldn't i?

Bassy-Alex: Pretty Feli Fun. But give it lower... It is too high. ;)

Dubmeister - Where performance meets style! - you can get pressed plates from there, im after a set of french ones for my pug, but to be fair if they have the F/CZ/D or anything apart from GB on them it will make it more obvious that they are illegal, but a police car went around a meet i was at once and didnt say anything about the 5 odd cars with french plates

nice car tho!

i think having CZ on a skoda isnt gunna ring any alarm bells with the police, the only give away is the whole right hand drive thing

maybe but i think the whole differernt order of numbers and letters in a uk plate to a czech plate might give it away - its also illegal to have the wrong country in the band not just the metal plate

Seconded
