Dealer Crunch Time Help Please

Featured Replies

Well its finally crunch time.

After 4 months of owning my over revving 1.6 FSI Elegance Octavia and with the dealer replacing lots of parts it appears to beyond repair so the dealer has offered to take it back in exchange for a 1.8T FSI Elegance. The deal is as follows

My 57 reg Octavia Elegance in Cappacino 1.6 FSI, Maxidot, Multifunction steering wheel, and tyre pressure monitor. Oct 2007 with 2800 miles on the clock.

Straight swop for

57 reg Standard Octavia Elegance in Storm Grey 1.8T 17 inch Pegasus wheels, Sept 2007 with 6,500 miles on the clock.

Obviously the latter will be more to tax insurance and runnng costs.

Only have till Monday to decide so would like all your views.

Thanks.

Do it :)

Well you're getting a better specced car so take it!

I didnt think the 1.8 tfsi had been available for that long?

Might be an ex demo and as such a very early 1.8TSI.

I would take the offer just to be rid of that bloody over revving problem you have been plagued with. 115BHP for 160BHP sounds nice too. Maybe push for the next service FOC to partly compensate for the higher running costs.

go for it. just make sure the softwares been upgraded in the 1.8t

our demo had a flat spot when reving theough 1st gear. after a ecu upgrade its been fine! much better than the 1.6i imoa. and if you miss maxidot you can retro fit it cant you?

Just do it. :)

Yes do it. I like the idea of getting the next service foc too, and would 12 months tax and a tank of fuel be pushing it.

you should push for everything you can get! :)

How much time and money have you wasted while being inconvenienced with this issue?

If you don't ask you don't get (or ask and ye shall receive)

Good luck.

Better spec'd car but with a few more miles; no great shakes, you'll enjoy the better car I'm sure.

Go for it; but try and get a bit more; tax, next service etc.

On balance I think your dealer is being pretty fair about it all. Full marks to them.

sounds good, go for it and ask for teh extras. as said above you can always retro the maxidot. perhap they will code it for you it you get hold of one?

Yes a derfinite must do

take it mate.

Take it sounds like a cracking deal, even better if you can get anything else thrown in.

It will be worth more when it comes to trade in or sale time, more desireable engine.

Deal

Do it and get them to swap steering wheel over...

Sounds like a fair deal to me.... I'd go for it

Get them to swap the steering wheel over as said and also try to get them to retrofit the maxidot, either from your existing car into this or put a maxidot unit in.

Either way, it has to be a good thing just to be rid of the problem car.

I agree, absolute no brainer :)
