Thats the fuel cooler, £104!

Thats aweful, the stone hit my sump but i guess my sump is harder than stone  Its only grazed it.... but i might get a new one for peice of mind etc.

Just starting to strip the car down, have removed all the carpets from inside and the seats, My plan is to strip the dented area down to the bare metal then weld a series of bolts to the outer skin, then use a slide hammer to pull the dent out. then grind the bolts off and skim with filler.

A nice coat of anti rust primer and base coat then a generous coating of underseal should see it right.

All the bits have been ordered, fuel cooler was £104  total for parts is £384 which i didnt think was bad considering what i am getting :D

At least doing it myself i know its going to be repaired to a very high standard. and its nice and warm in m garage, so tonight i might start stripping the turbo off ;)

soo jealous of your garage! my omegas been stripped for 5 months now as im such a fair weather mechy!

DIY is the only way to go, you know its done then. a friend of mine did a strip down of his car and redid all the underside. he got caught up in things and cleaned EVERYTHING! suspension, calipers, arch liners the lot. looked good though lol

best of luck with it!

Sorry to hear the shocking news, glad you are OK.

Fair play to you for your positive attitude and outlook. After the investment of time money and effort, I'd be sorely tempted to just curl up in a ball and feel sorry for myself.

I spent all this morning doing it. ;)

I think ive found my calling, i dont want to be a civil engineer anymore, I want to be a mechanic :D

Will post some pics up when our lass pulls her finger out and takes some, i am rubbish with a camera as most of you already know.

The big dent underneath was pushed out from the inside through a small hole i drilled in the inner skin. The the whole underside of the car has had a good coat of underseal. Fuel cooler took all of 15 seconds to fit and console track control arm and bottom ball joint didnt take long either. The main problem i encountered was with the fuel tank...... what a pita of a job. and the sealing ring was stuck hard on the old tank so had to break it off and buy a new one.

Apart from that pretty easy fix and i am totally chuffed with myself
