Fabia Vs Concrete block!

Featured Replies

Concrete block 1 fabia 0

Driving to our lasses house tonight hit a nice lump of concrete in the road under the middle of a railway bridge.

I think the block has fallen off the bridge so have reported it to network rail and the police.

Front splitter is gone, Track control arm, sump, big gash in bottom of car, fuel coolers smashed, fuel tank smashed, fuel everywhere, rear beam is prolly bent.

Gutted doesnt begin to describe how i feel.

will get some pics in the daylight

That's what you get for downgrading to 130hp.. if you kept your map on then you'd have gone so much faster you'd have flown over it ;)

Gutted for you mate.

:thumbdwn:

OMG.

Devastating.

Hopefully there will be a positive result from network rail etc... make sure you get photos of the scene etc. :)

Get Photos lol i have the block

.. If you declared your modification (remap) to the insurance and took it off (without informing them it's off for the week), is this grounds for them to void your insurance claim?

Bad luck :( - hope you get a satisfactory solution to it though, must be gutted :(

Take it you were not hurt other than by what's happened to the car ?

Nope not hurt, just gutted. Looks like new turbos going on hold for the time being.

I'll bet that was a hell of a bang .......could you see where the block came from?

Terrible news mate. Hope it reaches a satisfactory conclusion, quickly.

Steve

bloody hell, as bad as it is having your car damaged imagine if it had landed on someone

i would have taken photo's of it in place, where it came from, my car where it stopped, damage to the car on the scene and then taken it away with me after calling the police etc.

nasty business that :(

I know where to get a fuel tank from, but it will take some serious work to remove it, and quite costly to post.

Thinking in my mind what I have lying about that you've damaged and nothing springs to mind.

not sure about diesel tanks but my mate had a nightmare trying to get a petrol tank delivered as i think virtually no one would touch it unless it was in virtually new condition and had absolutely no aroma of fuel about it.

Thanks mate, i think it will be left in the hands of insurance, i just cant afford to repair it, ive spent nearly 1.5k on bits for the hybrid conversion:(

Oh well. Thank god for that. I didn't fancy spending hours down the local scrappy trying to extract the fuel tank.

If it did fall out of the bridge take them to the cleaners .....Hire car the lot

this is proper bad news mate,i'm gutted for you, hope you can get it fixed quick:thumbup:

Hope you get it all sorted, feel for you mate.

Thanks for all the Kind words.

I felt like sh!te earlier. But after talking to my dad were just going to get up early tomorrow, get the car jacked up in the warmth of the garage and access the situation from there.

Hopefully things wont be as bad as they looked tonight

Fingers crossed!

I hope all goes well.

Wish you luck !!

just give me a bell if theres owt i can help with mate:thumbup:

Horrible news mate. Hope that it gets properly sorted and the insurers take care of it all asap.

Road debris especially at night is a nightmare.

I nearly hit a complete sofa-chair that was sat right in the middle of the motorway last week.. Luckily I managed to dart out of the way but it could've have been a real mess....
