Porsche GT3 MR finished in blackboard paint?

Featured Replies

Spotted at this weekends PH meet and was drawing some admiring comments. My question though is why is it painted with blackboard paint? ;) Must admit though, it's a VERY nice car but the finish is a curious one (could just imagine seeing a kid with a stick of chalk going up and drawing all over it :D)

Anti radar paint .......Stealthbomber style maybe ???

Saves on wax I guess...

What's a GT3 MR? Never heard of one...

It's called flat paint, and there's loads... looks stealthy on some, ****e on others ;)

Steve

This was at the Ace this month, suffice to say this is not your average GT3, thers a few more bits done to it ;););).

Must admit I really liked it. Perhaps I might have to go for that on the next motor :D:D

i would of thought he/she had it painted that way because its different and stands out from other porsches

i like it a lot :D

Back for a re-re-respray I think. Wonder what the colour code is....

On the original car I'm seeing gunmetal that someone forgot to lacquer!

Quinten appears to have found some silk blue or black ones though.

Anti radar paint .......

a la Canonball Run :rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

Ooooh I like some of those very much indeed. You can see the great shape of the 911 and Ferrari really well. The Scooby looks good too, at least to me:thumbup:. GT3 looks plain evil:thumbup::D

I love the matt black look , couple i spotted on a DW thread

That is what I was thinking when I posted

Seemingly its fairly simple as its a single stage paint with no clearcoat, a wash and dry should have it looking good again. The likes of aprilla and ducati have their own 'polish' but its more of a sealant with no gloss.

Would hate to do a correction on one, i'd send it back shiny :D

Now those last 3 are just plain naughty:thumbup::):):):)

is it smooth to touch?

what happens if someone puts t cut on it?

soo many questions

Still looking for a paintcode, but god knows what to look for? Something exactly similiar to the Skyline/Porsche photo.

Ducati do a very similar colour and the ducati code is duc36a or the paints4u code is 8117830

Strange texture tbh, a bit like a very fine grade of Wet & Dry :)

Saw that one yesturday aswell Steve, still not sure myself.

That Porsche looked awesome! A paint job like that has be on something special for it to work, and I think it works well on that one! (It sounded like a monster too, awesome)

I'm also intrigued about the MR part?
