Top speed in a felicia diesel 1.9

Featured Replies

hey folks what kind of speed do you think the old 1.9 diesel can do top end? I’m not condoning speeding in any way just wondering what you've had yours up to, obviously i know you'll all have been on a track at the time of your top speed and with a helmet and proper saftey gear, that goes without saying

i've had the old girl read 93 but i think the speedo is massively out lol altho you could prove me wrong,

nurnburgring here we come! lol

When our lass had hers it topped out at about 105

Mine goes to 182 Km on the GPS, on the dashboard it stop on the 175Km.

This topspeed was with 195/50/15 now it does only 178km on the GPS.

100 mph and + = autobanned !!! :thumbdwn: in the UK on public roads ?

If youre caught:rolleyes:.

182 km = 113 mph.

:) Used to do a ton myself many (many) years ago .

They used to test tonup 'muscle' cars on the M1, which brought in the speed limit they say .

Here in Portugal the top speed is 120Km on the speedway but i need to now how fast my cars goes lol. If the cops caught me i will pay.

not sure about the oilburners, but the 1.6 with a clean air filter, new plugs and fresh oil will do 115mph

Easy 100mph in mine, 110 would be no prob - no rev counter and fear of radar stopped me going any quicker - mine has the cat removed which make help a little.

Had 111MPH on the Sat Nav in my 1.3... And it was sitting at just under 6,000RPM

Skoda quote an official top speed of 97mph for the 1.9D.I know they accelerate quicker than a Fabia 1.9SDi by about 3 seconds to 62mph!

hahaha

i got my 98 1.3LX felly to 195kmh (engine on full rev)

Had my Fabia vRs up to 120mph think it could do more if i pushed it it sits well at 100mph

I've done an indicated ton a few ytimes in Woodie-bit lairy on stock susp and brakes...

Why dont we have a meet at pendidne sands and try to actually set some speed records?

get a 1.3, 1.3 estate. 1.6 etc all done-timed over a mile?

would be fun!

We need this guy along in the Felicia track test

:D

will go and test my 0-60 at some point

i managed 90+ in the Caddy Yesterday (Pickup rebadged obviously!) and thats a 1.9 D but fear of loosing my licence and no rev counter stopped me pushing it any further.

Don't worry about no rev counter, it should have a rev limiter. AFAIK for the MOT the tester plunges the accelerator all the way down to test emissions which I think should take it to the limiter.

Would be careful if the cam belt is suspect though - but a suspect cam belt should be changed ideally.

lucky for me the cambelt is less then 10k miles old!

  • 3 months later...

My 1.3 43KW managed 115mph (almost 185Km/h) with standard tyres size. It is a 1997 GLX.

  • 1 year later...

managed 90in a1.3 felly hatchback.not for too long tho.cheapo tyres make me bit wary

115+ by speedo, 112 according to satnav. 0-60 in 11.2. sweet for a pretty bog-standard 1.3 i think?

1.9D pickup 103mph on satnav. it wasn't climbing after that.

the 1.9 diesel will do 95mph on std size tyres and that is on the max rpm governer ..

seen 135MPH in the rallycar 7000rpm in 5th

i get scare when i get my 1.3 estate up to around 90 just dont feel safe any faster lol
