Potential Fabia VRS Owner

Featured Replies

Had a second Fabia test drive last saturday - started in a 1.2  , next the 1.4 petrol :) and third - you guessed it  !

Needless to say I preferred the 1.2 Classic - only kidding. The VRS changed my perception of this car from being a cheap way to get a Polo (sorry to use such words here) to getting a real serious car  . Although my Alhambra has the same engine and until Saturday I thought it was a reasonably quick car (taking into account the size), what Skoda have done is incredible. The only problem is the area I drove it was camera'd up so no going above 50. Still I had a bit of fun when some youngsters (don't I sound old!) tried to take me on in a Proton. One swift press of the accelerator and they were left behind - hopefully the last time they try it on with a Skoda.

I was introduced to Briskoda by another member who I met in the car park at Brands Hatch. Thanks for the adivce - this is a great site!

My only problem is buying one now - any advice would be much appreciated. Fortunately it will be my wife's car and she loves it, so if you hear of any good deals, please let me know.

Thanks,

Gerald

The day started with me planning to buy a 1.2 Silverline pre-reg. Test drove a 1.2, then a 1.4 - decided that the 1.2 was better value despite no tinted glass, uncomfortable seats, no air con, a naff silverline badge, no power, no rear speakers...................................................................no VRS badge.

Then threw some bait out to the dealer, who nibbled, but didn't nibble enough - tried another dealer and we immediately struck up a deal. One signature later and my wife should have a nice red one next week!

Does this qualify me for membership?

No qualifications required - welcome to the club !

A good choice, Gerald, and welcome to Briskoda. Keep us informed on how you are going to mod the Fabia without your wife (a) finding out or (B) objecting. :(
